Do you believe a state run health insurance program would work???

Not talking a socialized medicine type of thing here. I mean a state run and administrated health insurance program, in between a standard insurance type and and HMO plan. Would it be feasable. Could it be feasable.

There' millions of "ifs" here, but, is it possible.

We'd pay premiums, but, could it or would it or should it be tax supported. Where would you add a tax to support this. Increase sales tax, tax groceries, small increases on other taxes already in place. I know, we're already taxed to death.

Just asking a legitimate question.

Didn't Tennessee try this several years ago, TennCare, that eventually went bankrupt? Can't remember all the details...

Yes, I recall that. Seems I remember it was taken over by a private company too, I could be mistaken. I remember it was easy to defraud the system.

Good point, maybe if something like this was proposed, we could learn from their mistakes.

There's got to be something or some way to help us with this issue.

I could work with the right people running it.

The people with the state medical cards that don't work get better health care than those of us that work for barely above minimum wage, and don't qualify for a medial card.

I don't know how we'd pay for it other than members premiums. They'd have to tax something.

Good post!

Anything has to be better than what we have now.

The people with insurance seem to be paying the most through the nose. These deadbeats with no jobs and all the kids get the medical cards and don't pay a darn cent.  Then they go out and talk on their cell phones and smoke their cigarettes and lay around the house all day.

They won't work cause they will lose their gold cards.
