JULY FIREWORKS: Time for a change.

Corbin has some great fireworks, but, it has the worst location of all the towns and counties around us.

That civic center are is TERRIBLE. It's too small, traffic jams are horrendous, and if you have to park and watch away from the area, there's not that many places to go.  The mature trees all around blocks many of the fireworks, such as at Immanual Church.  You can see some, but not all.

Time to come back to town.

If the shopping center doesn't want them, put it at the new Expo site.  Shoot them off the hill, and let all of the folks park in the huge lot next to the road. If it is Vance's property, ask him to let us park there.  Or, we will anyway.   It's a civic event, surely he won't mind.  We need to get back to the areas around town, not out in the boonies like the present civic center.

Williamsburg does theirs at the water park, which is where we went this year, and they were great. And, plenty of parking.

Bring them back to town.

I agree with this. When our kids were small, we loved going to the shopping center. Good parking, traffic was ok even though it was crowded.  I know the shopping center quit donating toward the cause, but, the location is great.

I think the new Expo area would be great. Only one time a year, we and the city can put up with the traffic.
