Anyone know what's going on at the old Helton's Gas Station and Garage. I had always hoped someone would buy and restore the garage, as it had some style to it, especially if it was restored, but, I'm sure it would have cost a fortune.

Personally I'm glad to see it all cleaned up. I'm not sure what's going there, but it was certainly costly to tear it all down. The cost of removing the old gas tanks can reach well over $50,000 and that's a small lot. Restoration would have cost a bundle, since even a restoration project would be required to remove the old fuel tanks.
I've long been curious as to why no one has done anything with the old Porter IGA lot. It's a really high traffic area and has a lot of parking.

That certainly seems to be the obvious, best use. That particular stretch of Master had been getting trecherous from people waiting to get through their drive-thru. I'm just glad it's not going to be another tobacco outhouse, or storage shed.
