China Garden

After two+ years of driving by this place, I had sushi for the first time in Corbin today. I knew China Garden had a sushi bar, but I have been very hesitant to try sushi here - when you eat raw fish, you want to be very sure about the place you are dining at.

Months ago two sushi eating friends of mine told me this place was pretty good, and even though these two friends are very sharp individuals and dine at Japanese restaurants all over the country like I do, I still had my doubts.

I should have listened to them months ago. Today they talked me into trying China Garden. I am as picky as they come when it comes to sushi, and the meal was great, the fish was fresh, had great salmon and yellowtail sushi, the spicy crab roll was awesome, the company was great, and will definately be going back. This place is a well kept secret.

Also, anyone traveling I-75, or anyone from London, Williamsburg or any of the surrounding areas should try this place if you are a sushi fan. I am told that the Chinese food is very good also.

It is located at Corbin's South exit 25, head west on US 25 about a quarter mile on the right. They are also in the process of expanding the restaurant and will be applying for their liquor license.

Is this the one in the small plaza with the old Exxon station and the Subway.

I've never eaten there.

I have eaten here several times and surprisingly, the sushi is pretty good. If there are any sushi fans out there, don't be afraid to try this place. It is the best you will get without driving 90 miles, and actually better than some of the places I've tried Lexington.

I must say, I've yet to eat there. It's sort of out of the way, even on that busy road. It sits way back of the road, sort of on a hill. And, the empty and dark former Exxon sort of makes you look past it.

I need to make it a point to try soon.
