Well here we are coming up on a year after the election and I have to say that Pat White, Jr. has turned out to be the right man for the job. I wanted to go to the fiscal court meeting in Corbin the other day but I couldnt make it. I just think it is so great that he is moving the meetings out into the community so that more peopel can get involved in county government. He is truly a man of the people. I've talked to him personally several times and he has always been super nice to me and is willing to explain anything about government. I hope Pat runs again for judge because we need more good men like him in office.
While I think Pat making the meetings available for more people is a good move, I can't say he is doing great , fair or poor just yet. Wait until he is in the job for 2 to 3 years, see if the county debt has dropped, see if any new industry and jobs have been brought in, etc. It is too soon to judge.
I agree with Wildcat, it's too soon. He has been learning the ropes and what his job is and such. I think the corbin meeting was a great idea, and he is trying to bring more people into the fold. In his second year we'll begin to see what he's made of.
One thing I'm wondering, is will he offer a county job to Bill Neighbert when he comes home from frankfort.
Well, I went to him about a problem on Croley Bend road where I live and he was so nice about everything. He sat down and talked to me for 30 minutes about my concerns. Within two days, the road crew was down there to fix it.

I know it is not very popular to say good things about Pat White on this board, but I do not regret voting for him. Our Governor could not come to the Empty Stocking Program and our Lt. Governor came. I bet our County Judge Executive Pat White was there, wasn't he?
