Corbin' Sewers

It seems to me if our town is going to have growth; we need to address a problem that has been ignored for some time and that is our sewer system. An expansion upgrade is long overdue. Is this lack of dollars? lack of foresight? What's your thinking?

Thanks for the very good post, lazy dazy. It is probably because of a lack of planning. For example, in a good manufacturing plant preventive maintenance saves so much time, productivity, and money as opposed to reactive, crises maintenance.

The same is true in any type of operation. Corbin's ability to expand is tied in closely to our utility systems capability to keep us in a strong position to compete with other communities.  We have some very good people in our utility companies. The mindset, however, is often to service what we are today and not plan for what we can become in the future. Thanks for bringing this subject up for us to discuss.

I think the last big expansion we had in the sewer area was for the new subdivision that was annexed out on Ohler Road. And that took a long time to come to fruition.

They can't even get the east corbin sewers to work correctly. Every hard rain, the sewage is coming up through the man hole covers. In this day and age of EPA issues, I'm surprised the city hasn't been sued.

Good topic.

Oh, and the sewers for the new elementary school and Tattersall, where are they now? NOWHERE! Thanks to our fine leadership and management in our city utilities commission and city government.
