I think the mayor and commissioners should give their pay for being our elected officials until they take action to get our knox county occupational taxes back or begin getting our share.

They are dropping the ball totally on this.

Whatever it is they smoked, I totally agree with it. Why should these clowns get a cent for doing nothing about losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue that should be going into our bank account.

Good suggestion, a darn good one. They ought to earn their money, not sit back and collect a check while a good portion of the cities money passes them by.

Have you ever tried talking to the elected officials or Bill Ed about this. They just politely smile, and give you the same "we're workin on it" reply to blow you off. And yes, I have personally asked each and every one of them about it. And the only one that will go past that answer is Lynch, and he's mad a fire about it and will talke more about it. He won't discuss details, as I guess they've sworn him to secrecy, but he's mad as heck about it.

I agree with you. Why should Corbin's citizens get any taxes that come from Corbin and go to Knox County and Barbourville? That would take some guts and effort to try to get handled.  We should just let Barbourville have another $1 million over the next ten years that comes from businesses and workers in Corbin, Knox County. We don't want to rock the boat.  We just want to let them have their way.  When the great Patrick Henry said "We must have an end to taxation without representation" that was just a stupid comment." Or was it a wise statement?

I think the Mayor is worried more about his Hair than the one million we lost to Knox County?

It would be a sight to see, all four of them marching down to the clerks office, all filling out their papers to run again, joining hands, singing the corbin fight song, pledging to work as they have the last four years, without addressing the knox county tax issue.

Although, the only one we should really be mad at is Gregory. I think he is the one that was on the commission when all this started, and he didn't do anyting about it then.

The mayor and the other three weren't on then.

These Guys should not take a penny untill this is resolved, if the city Employess, Mayor, Commission, City Manager were having their paychecks taxed in the Knox County portion of Corbin instead of Whitley, I'll bet they would feel different!

The Citizens of Knox County in Corbin should organize by petition, call a meeting, retain an attorney and ask a Judge to freeze all Tax Money taken from their checks to both Corbin & Knox County until this is solved.

Cut both Corbin & Knox Counties Money Stream off untill a Judge can obviously decide what is fair.

I'll bet both would get this resolved quickly if their money was cut off!!!!!

That is a most excellent idea. Some of you could file for the upcoming city commissioner race with the promise of not taking any pay until you get the Knox County issue resolved. This board sure does bring out the best in some of you. I will watch for your names to appear in the newspaper.
