"Vacancies at city hall" Do you think they're serious?

I believe it was the mayor's comment this week in the paper, concerning the fiasco (SNAFU) of the city tax bills, and his comment about if this happens there will be vacancies at city hall (correct that if it's wrong please) that made me wonder, do you think he's serious.

There's only one vacancy that would need to be filled, and that is the person in charge, the city manager. It's his job, his responsibility, and him alone. When you're in charge, you get it all, the good and the bad. I remember the mayor stating when he was running for the office, and right after he was elected, he was going to clean house.

My tax return will be a little bit smaller this year, thank's to the city managers ineptness of not getting out my tax bills on time. Sure it will be bigger next year, but, that's a year away. I had plans for my refund. Now, I have to change plans. How big a difference will it be, that's my business, but, it matters to me. I use my refund as sort of a "bonus" at the end of the year, like many others. This year, my "bonus" is somewhat less, through no fault of my own.

Comments? Opinions?

I think the Mayor is a good man, but he and the commissioners won't do anything. The software excuse is just that, an excuse, because as the News Journal said, the other cities around here use the same software and had theirs out months ago. This has cost voters in Corbin money, but the lack of follow through on the "change and cleaning house" campaign promises over the past year shows the commissioners and mayor don't care, and the public needs to take note.

The mayor's legacy will be greatly effected by those he surrounds himself with.

I think the mayor was going to "clean house" when he was elected, but he's had to listen to the city managers excuses and sob stories for so long, he feels sorry for him, and won't do his duty as he needs to.

No, I think we an write off any action by this commission and mayor until the next election rolls around, especially concerning the tax bill issue and the knox county occupational tax issue.

There's only one person responsible for this mess, and its the city manager, and he should have been disciplined for it.
