New Tourism Website, where is it? Is it up yet? Or are we waiting for a new chairman?

This was discussed in several groups in the last couple of weeks. Where is the new tourism web site?

If it's up and running, I haven't found it yet, so if it's out there, let me know and I'll hush.

But, and interesting point was made about his issue.

Could it be that even though Estep got the old site, ran by Terrell, brought down, that there won't be a new one up and running until AFTER Estep is out as chairman this year, supposedly February.

If he, Estep goes out last month, February, and a new chairman comes in March, then maybe that new chairman will simply hire Terrell to start his site back up. The only true opposition he'll have is Tipton, and he's only one vote.

Could it be they were just patronizing Estep knowing they would bring back the old site after he's gone. Sure they'd suffer Estep's wrath in his weekly editorials, but only if they did things that were questionable, like paying for the work at the civic center.

Estep may have his hands full if he knowingly pledged money to an illegal "no bid" contract at the civic center.

Again, if the new site is up and going, let me know, and I'll eat my crow for not knowing about it.

It has only been four months since the former website was taken down by Estep. After all, we must be patient. It could take several years. This will save them money they can spend for work that could have been done at no cost.

We won't have a horse show this year. We don't have a website. We are not accepting donated time and work to build children's athletic fields. Estep, Sams, Carpenter, Cannon and crew have everything under control.

Given the tough Economic Times the entire nation is going through that web site might want to hurry and get itself online. Losing 33% of an entire year with no advertising with an Economy in free fall seems strange.

If this site stays under construction much longer we might not having anything to promote but a rest stop for London.

I would simply drop the past and look to the future, the Tourism team should ask Bob Terrell Jr. to build the best web site in the world, get it online and get us back in the game. Let's move forward and start competing, we can debate details anytime anywhere, right now we are not even in the game.
