This is one time I appreciate Don Estep's editorial. He gave an excellent synopsis of the recent meeting with the group that conducted the corbin survey. The daily paper dropped the ball big time on this meeting, leaving out all kinds of neat details.
I think that the mayor and city manager, whom I feel were two of the city leaders that left, showed the typical corbin arrogance with regard to our elected leadership when they up and left at the meetings break. I don't know if Shelton or Farris was there from the article. Lynch stayed and I really appreciate it as a citizen of corbin.
As far as I'm concerned, the only person that could have a legitimate excuse would be Joe Shelton, as he cannot just up and leave the doctors office on short notice. He is my wife's doctor (PA), and she would be totally pissed if she had an appointment and he left for a city meeting and she was sick. Farris, on the other hand, is self employed, and had no excuse for missing the meeting, unless he was out of town on a previously scheduled vacation. Gregory, no excuse unless he was in the hospital. The mayor, he can make time. That's his job. And Cannon, same for him.
I wonder if they'll make it to the next meeting when the survey is broken down even farther.
WE'll just have to see.
In the meantime, I'll hope that Estep keeps us informed. The daily really dropped a big one on this.
