To truly show your support for the people of corbin, how about all of you, the mayor and all the commissioners, starting an email site so the citizens and voters can let you know what they think about what you're doing, what they want you to do, and what you've done.
It's simple, open up a hotmail account, and put it our for us to use.
Something like CorbinMayor@hotmail.com, or SheltonCommissioner@hotmail.com. Something like that.
I know you'll get some cranks and idiots, but I think you'll get much more input and insight from corbin voters as well.
Give it a try. Many of us never see you throughout the year.
If you feel you don't see them enough and know whats going on, my suggestion to you is get up off your seat and start attending City commission meetings or subscribe to the local News Journal for information. They cover the news as well.
I do subscribe to the News Journal, and the Times Tribune. I also watch the commission meetings on the cable channel when they are on, however, I do not know the schedules of the local channels. If you know where to find their time schedules as far as being on the cable channel, please post it.
As far as the commission meetings, I work. And my job doesn't allow me to leave early or take a vacation day very easily so that I can attend such meetings. I've noticed that several of those in attendance at the commissioin meetings are folks that CAN take off work early, or are self employed so they just go to the meetings anyway. My job, as well as many friends of mine that are interested in corbin's issues, do not have flexible schedules.
And, I've noticed by watching the commission meetings, not all the issues are published in EITHER paper.
These commissioners and mayor were elected, they asked for the job, so they should go out of their way, in any way they can, to be available to their bosses, the voters and citizens of Corbin.

I think the previous poster expressed their opinion and made some valid points, and your "Get off your seat" sarcasim isn't warranted - it just makes you look like a smart a** who doesn't think before they speak or type.
