Will Neighbert get out of this one.

He just keeps getting himself in trouble.

Think he'll get out of this one.

I hope not. The pardon he received from Gov. Fletcher got him out of two different messes. Now he is in another one and I don't believe the Governor can rescue him this time. And his son has escaped from trouble several times and we will soon find out if our justice system will punish his transgressions. The power group in Whitley County has used the county for its own selfish needs. The people of Whitley County deserve better, but they have passively rested on their butts and let it happen.

Our leaders should be good examples of integrity and fairness. It is sickening to see how they use their power to intimidate and rudely treat the people who work for them. When are we going to stop this kind of leadership?

What is the latest on the two Nighberts? Surely the Governor won't be able to pardon them and get them off the hook?

They will both get out of these crimes. They are part of the established power in Eastern Kentucky and they are above the law.

The word is out that Whitley County's Circuit Court Clerk's son got off with a $250 fine in Florida with two of the charges being dropped against him. Once again power and political influence rule over justice. He was on probation for another conviction and got off with a fine. Wow......

Maybe It's time for another Guest Commentary by Nighbert in the News Journal? Let's be watching for another one!

It looks like the Barton boy has gotten off and will likely join the Air Force. When I was in in the service we wanted dependable and honest persons to serve with us.

Isn't it time for Secretary Nighbert to give us another speech on Auto safety? And when Governor Fletcher is on TV warning us that if "you are caught driving under the influence of alcahol or drugs in Kentucky you will surely do jail time." What a bunch of crap. The Whitley County gang can do anything and get away with it. The Barton boy violated his probation and all he got was a $250 fine.

We sit on our hands and continue to let these jerks get out of it.

Our leaders should be honest and unselfish, and commited to serving the people. When will we find out if the Nighbert boy will face justice or if influence and power will get him off the hook? Next month it will be a year since he was driving 92 MPH under the influence, on duty, and had an accident. We should all be watching our justice system's performance.

Tomorrow at 11:00 am in the Laurel County Courthouse we will start finding out if Mr. Vance can squirm his way out of the mess he is in. The Bartons and Nighberts have a real talent in getting out of their transgressions and I am anxious to see how justice is conducted in Laurel County. My advice to Mr. Vance would be:

1. Apologize to the State Police and the people of this area for endangering other lives.
2. Enter an alcohol rehab Center
3. Start going to Church and change his life around from selfishness to helping others.
4. Start using his wealth and power for the people of the area.
5. Don't touch another drop of booze.
6. Get rid of his yellow tank and get something that doesn't scream out at everyone to get attention.
He needs to take a low profile and learn what humility is all about.
7. He could be a blessing to other people instead of a person who has earned our disrespect and scorn.

Bill Nighbert's son has done it again. 13 months have gone by since his big car accident when he drove 92 mph on Police duty under the influence of alcahol and now he is getting even deeper in trouble. But the question is.....will be have to be accountable for these crimes?

The young Nighbert boy is going to rehab and when he gets out the Judge will declare him totally recovered and ready to go back on the Williamsburg Police Department with a promotion and big raise. The Judge in the other probation he was placed on earlier will declare that his outstanding behavior in rehab and his obvious total recovery qualifies him to even be promoted to a major command post in Homeland Security.  He will quickly be given a good conduct medal and his attorney will sue the Kentucky State Police for mistreatment of a model citizen. In a few years he will be County Judge Executive of Whitley County after Pat White runs for Charles Siler's job after Siler retires. We are lucky people to have this kind of Justice system in our area.

Yes, he will get out of it. He is doing great in rehab, and let's face it, we all deserve at least a dozen chances after we break the law. Paris Hilton is in jail right now for doing less than he did.  Paris was not wearing a police uniform and on duty when she had her problem. Everyone wanted her to pay for her problem with 45 days in jail. Nighbert had a police badge and a gun on him when he was caught this last time with the loot and the drugs.  But after all Nighbert has more influence than Paris Hilton.

The Barton boy did worse than Paris Hilton. People were up in arms at the thought that she might not have to serve her sentence of 45 days. The Barton boy violated his probation and now he is out loose.  Is this justice?

The attorneys of this area are very fortunate to have the Nighberts, Bartons, Vances, and the Jerry Taylors living around here. It guarantees a lot of legal work that ends up in a negotiated agreement where lawyers for both sides are the winners.

I heard Transportation Cabinet Secretary Nighbert is now included in another investigation. This time it is about road contractors selected by the State and the contributions they make to Fletcher's "Administration".

This has been a dark period in Kentucky and Whitley County's history.

A friend in Williamsburg told me the Nighbert  boy will be in a rehab center for a year. Let's pray that it helps him and that he gets his life back in a positive way.

The big question in Frankfort is where will Bill Nighbert go if Fletcher loses. Some believe he will take Karl Rove's place in Washington, DC.  He will serve the final year of the Bush Administration, and then he will run for David Williams' State Senate seat, and Williams will run for McConnell's US Senate senate.

In Washington DC I understand the Republicans in the Senate are not happy with McConnell's leadership style. Rather than being dumped as Senate Minority Leader he may opt to retire.

These are trying and difficult times for the Republican party in Frankfort, and Washington DC.

Correct

It certainly is a tough time for Republicans, the Party is going to have to dig deep. But we have an ACE in the hole, the Democrats, and their ability to let their radical anything goes left wing gain control.

We are depending on them to rise to the top once again, they are already starting to rear the heads and help us tighten up some races. Beshear can win easy, he does not even have to do anything but the Liberal Radical left is already blabbering, the pols will get tight and we'll have another shot.

Yes, Nighbert is an absolute train wreck but he'll start to look good when Move on.org and the rest of the Radical Left rears it's beautiful head!!!!

We have a shot!!!

Word is on the streets of williamsburg that Pat white Jr., may appoint Bill Nighbert as his Emergency Management director. Has anyone heard this???

Please say that is a joke.  And while Pat White's name has been thrown out there, did no one find it strange that he would have $10,000 cash in his house, that was stolen???  That was reported in the newspaper a few months ago.  How many people keep that kind of cash on hand in their house, and why???

By the way, does anyone know what the going rate for copper wiring is these days???  How do people feel about the Whitley county Emergency Management Director being on paid administrative leave during his indiscretion?  Surely the amount he stole was worth more than $300, which would be a felony count rather than a misdemeanor.  Same ole Whitley county politics.....

While copper is high when sold as scrap, a roll he could lift easily and throw into his car wouldn't be that big, or bring that much.

He has to be on paid admin leave until he is found guilty, officially, and then he can be fired.

Who hired this clown. Did Pat White hire him.

I heard that when Fletcher lost tonight, Pat White announced that Bill Nighbert would be appointed Whitley County's Copper Wire Collection Director.
