Wow--What a very Investigative Article in Yestersay's News Journal, The Subject was Extra Drug Testing, read this Article very carefully.

I agree with Trent on this one, there should be a baseline that drives you towards more testing, the same as you have now or less? All of this based off of the Current Facts gathered from 1998 when testing Started. The Rush to Increase Testing without data telling you to do so is an abuse of Power and should Monitored closley by the school Board.

Looking at the Information Trent provided I would also ask Why are you doing this when your numbers and current facts do not support it?

Also any Test Should Include Teachers and School Board Members, when ya start looking at Urine Samples, these tests now contain more detailed DNA, that's right, you can now detail this down much further and look back 5-10 Years instead of a few Months, you can find out Many, many details about one's past!!!!

Without the Evidence to tell ya to do this do the Teachers, Board members & Students really want the last 10-Years of their DNA Habits uncovered? In this age of Super Fast Information Access how long do ya think untill someone gets their hands on this Info.

Be carefull about giving up your Privacy unless it's absolutley Necessary

I agree, if they implement this (I personally think it's crossing the line) it should include testing EVERYBODY - teachers, principals, Superintendents, all administration, etc. Adults abuse drugs and alcohol as just as much or more than these kids.

Good job Trent.

I agree. If students are tested everyone in the system should be tested.

Before even one student is tested, every single employee of the school system should be tested, including subsititutes. From bus drivers (which are supposed to be anyway as they require a CDL license), up to the superintendent. As a matter of fact, the Superintendent and even the school board should do it as an example. These employees are paid with tax dollars, and are in a position of public trust, entrusted with the care and education of our children. Test them first and foremost.

I was amazed, according to the article, there were no dissenters. Maybe Trent can poll the school board members and random teachers in an article, and some students (pirvacy protected) as well. Also, a poll of random parents would be helpful.

Trent has some valid points and like to be devil's advocate. I agree staff should be tested. Bus Drivers are already tested it is required. Have any of you spent any time teaching a classroom or even visiting a school lately? I teach at a local high school not Corbin and we have increased who we test. Schools and students have changed drastically the past 10 years. Schools have been made to do parenting..... Drug testing is needed in order to keep out schools safe. Bring testing on for all teachers, principals, boards etc....
