To the previous poster! Anne Northup will defeat Ernie Fletcher By 3-5 Percentage points. You think the names you mentioned will get Fletcher a big victory in Whitley Co. You would be surprised at the Names that you don't know about who are supporting Northup in Williamsburg.

It is obvious some folks blogging here don't read any major newspaper on this election. On a May 15th poll, Fletcher is a 10 point favorite in the election over Northrup. More interestingly, Fletch has a 20 point lead on voters over 50 years old. These are the folks who actually go vote on election days.

Can anyone tell me what Northrup stands for or wants for Kentucky, or are you simply voting for anybody but Fletcher?

Honestly, I don't know a lot about her, although, she did loose her seat in the US Congress by the will of her "hometown" voters in Louisville. In the poll mentioned above, 25% of its respondents were in Jefferson County, so that should artificially skew the numbers in Northrupt's favor. In other words that 10 point Fletcher lead is probably on the low side of reality.

It will be interesting to see her support in her home district on Election night. Those folks didn't want to send her back to Washington, but do they want to send her to Frankfort???? More critically, if she does win the primary, a big vote turn out in Louisville will be important for a win, can she reclaim those votes she lost when she failed in her re-election bid for Congress?

When I watch a Fletcher commercial I wonder how he could claim all those good things he tells us about. He has been a disaster. Ann Northup would bring integrity to our state, and she will have a much better chance in November. I hope she can win next week.

I Have talked with several Democrats who say they are more worried about facing Anne Northup in the fall. Some have even said they went on this Web Site and Voted for Fletcher in the Poll on the Home page of this web Site. Evidently, the Web site administrator is allowing this to happen.WHere Democrats are POLL VOTING For FLETCHER in order to try and make it look like Fletcher is doing well. If you want to start throwing out insults, take a look in the mirror (and read your typing/grammer) if you want to see dumb. You obviously enjoy a 2rd grade mentality, so if you want to "skew" their poll, who cares about your one "skewed" vote - I won't be losing sleep over the results, although you seem to take these things very seriously.

I hope Democrats and Republicans will work together in November of this year and in the Presidential race of next year to elect people who will have integrity and are not arrogant and greedy.

Frankfort, and Washington, DC are in a mess with the corrupt group running both of them. Some of my Republican friends tell me they are ashamed of the mess we are in because the oil energy is running our nation. Abramoff and other lobbyists have brought shame to our nation. This episode is much worse than the Tea Pot Dome corruption of the Harding Administration.

It is going to take us years to overcome the problems we now have. And in Frankfort Gov. Fletcher's legacy will be the firing of merit employees, the basket full of pardon's he issued, and his constant whining because people expect an open and honest government.

Ask the people who have no medical insurance, and who have lost good paying jobs for low wages, and for the l taxes that have soared these last several years and they will tell you Fletcher is spinning the truth when he says everything is great because of him. Let's clean house.

After taking $163,000 back to Frankfort several weeks ago from Whitley County Republicans, Fletcher was back in town this weekend taking in some more bags full of money.

Fletcher's greatest area of support in Kentucky is Whitley County. It doesn't matter if you lie, cheat, or pardon crooked political leaders, Whitley County Republicans don't care.

Does Whitley County deserve a new Legal Center? No! Whitley County is in debt $18 Million dollars and that debt needs to be addressed before taking on another $22 Million project. The tax payers in Whitley County and the State are being burdened with higher taxes, higher gasoline prices, and higher medical costs. Our students face outlandish tuition prices in College and Whitley County gets a new center. Why do we need more modern facilities for our lawyers?
In the space we have today the Prosecuting Attorney plea bargains for the privileged people and doesn't seem to be able to win some trials for grevious crimes. Just pile it on the people. In a few years we won't have a middle class in America. We will have a small number who have nearly all the wealth and the rest of us will be poor.

Other areas of the state sure have noticed, with a laugh I might add, the "Whitley County Phenomenon" with Fletcher, in particular the "Greedy Wealthy" power groups, and the jobs that have gone to Fletcher buddys from Whitley County. If you know any business leaders - banking, media, etc. that are throwing their support behind this guy, you need to boycott their businesses. Their interests are not in helping the people or the State of Kentucky, their interests are only in their friends and their own wallets.

Whitley County has gone overwhelmingly for the Governor who is a liberal in giving pardons, Ernie "Pardon me" Fletcher. A valiant woman candidate, Ann Northup, with a clean record and a lot of experience and talent, could not break the lock that Fletcher has on the party.

In November Democrats and moderate Republicans should work together to throw our this corrupt group. If we have a new Democratic Governor in November I don't want him to treat the Republican employees the way Fletcher and his team treated Democrats working for the state. It is not political party that counts, it is performance. Let's clean up the mess in Frankfort with Republicans and Democrats and Independents working together.

Fletcher is the most liberal Governor Kentucky has had in many decades. He is liberal in spending money for his political friends. He is very liberal in granting pardons for his cronies even before they have gone through a trial for their questionable behavior. HE probably has led the nation in being liberal for spending money on cardboard checks and using State funds to travel around the State giving these checks and campaigning at the same time.  He is very liberal in being a mud slinger. Wait till the months leading up to the November election and watch how the attack dogs go after Beshear-Mongiardo.  He has no idea how the average person has to cope with higher local taxes, higher gasoline prices, no medical insurance, lower paying jobs, higher college tuition costs for our students, and the cost that families incur from higher utility costs which include all kinds of taxes.  Our cable television prices go up and up and the service goes down and down. The talk about liberal and conservative is a bunch of bunk. When Christ was on earth he was born in a manager, not a mansion. He travelled on a donkey, not a limosine. He loved the widows mite and told the rich young ruler it would be easier to go through an eye of a needle than for him to go to heaven.  The Republicans claim to be the religious party and the advocate of individual rights. That is a bunch of bunk. They want to impose their religion on others, and they have cut back on the individuals rights in this country. I liked Ronald Reagan. Bill Clinton was a great President. He was human. He sinned. But don't we all. The first President was not a very good President but he was a decent an good man. The Bush-Cheney-Fletcher group is a good example of power gone out of control.  Breshear is not a big gambling person and is not owned by any gambling group.  But if people in Kentucky have the right to gamble in neighboring states and they take millions of dollars out of Kentucky he wants to keep that money in our state for our children, for our schools, and for our people.
