City Utilities- Sewer service

The new elementary school is proceeding quickly out of fifth street road. I understand the city utilities should be starting the upgrades and new lines soon. You would think they would be trying to interest people to sign up to hook on the city sewer that will run to the school, and I heard also that it is  supposed to go on to Tattersall.  I've called down there, and the few times I could find someone to talk to that knew anything, said there is no plans to do anything except the school.

Anyone know anything else about this.

IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THE SEWER WILL BE INSTALLED INSIDE TATTERSALL AND THE SEWER LINES WILL RUN BEHIND THE HOMES ON A GRAVITY FLOW SYSTEM THEN PROCEED IN THE WOODED AREA BY PUMP TO THE SCHOOL.FROM THE SCHOOL I AM UNAWARE OF THE ROUTE TO THE SEWER PLANT.

You would think they would have someone out in the areas where the new lines will be installed trying to get them to sign on to hook up. That would be revenue.

A terrible problem people have who deal with CUC is the high deposits they require.  Alot of people cannot rent in the city because of the deposits.

I agree It is hard enough to rent apartments as is.  The CUC then levies prohibative deposits on people and they cann't pay their rent.

I agree. Our City Utility company makes you think they don't want anymore people in the City. Corbin needs to grow and get more of us in the city.

When developers seek to buid more houses or condos in the city limits the utility costs are prohibitive.  This is a major reason Corbin can't add people in the City limits and cannot attract more people to move into the City limits.

In order to grow and expand your community there must be a plan and a passion to make things happen. Corbin has no plan to expand.

Our Corbin City Utility is key to our growth in Corbin. Without their agressive and bold plan Corbin will sit there at 8,000 people while all around us more and more people are moving out in the three surrounding counties.

Good things don't just happen. There has to be leadership that has a vision and a plan to lead us to having a bigger and stronger community. Does Corbin have any kind of a plan for growth?

It cost a young fellow 400 dollars to hook up a 2 bedroom apt on Ky Street.  The apt was all electric. This was for water electric sewer and garbage

Just about any kind of apartment in Corbin will rent for $400 per month and will require a $400 deposit by the landlord. On top on this CUC will require a $400 deposit.  it makes it impossible to move into Corbin.

Our people face a very complex life today with all the fees, deposits, and hidden taxes. Young people starting out often have credit card debt that keeps them paying high interest rates. Their car, car insurance, sales tax, and registration cost them an arm and a leg.

Across our nation people are saving less money than ever before. Retirement plans have been discontinued by many companies. A 401K, or IRA, and Social Security are the things you live off of in your old age.

But in our great nation some CEO's get pushed to retire because the company has not done well and they ofter get $50 to 75 Million in a buy out. They have stock options that make them a fortune. While I don't begrudge people from making good money for their performance, the hard working people that produce the products and do the services are left out of the good life.
