Professional Sports

Professional sports are very competitive in performance, but many of the athletes have gone off the deep end with their terrible conduct.

Whether sports stars want to admit it or not, they are role models for many young people.  Many of our kids don't have a good role model in their home, and they become big fans of star athletes.

Many of the pro athletes live good lives and help many people. They visit kids in hospitals, put on free clinics, donate money and time for good causes and maintain a good reputation.

But sadly there are some who squander their opportunities to achieve great success and wealth by doing ridiculous things that ruin their career and lives.
As soon as a player is selected by a team there should be a three month orietnation and training course to try to emphasize how fragile their career is if they do the wrong things. With all the money some of them have they should never go near a bar. Some drunks would love to run around bragging about punching a star athlete in a bar fight.

In the off season the smart pro athletes go back home to where they started in life and stay close to their families.   From now on I believe when a pro athlete screws up it should cost him dearly. The money they are fined should be huge.
The time they have to spend in community service should be lenghty.

The last thing a pro athlete should get is a limosene. This makes them stick out like a sore thumb and just attracts problems.  My attendance a pro sports evens has been severely cut back. I prefer high school and little league  sports.
And we had better be careful or we will ruin these sports as well.

Vick, the Atlanta Quarterback, showed some terrible stupidness in getting involved in dog fighting. The dogs they use in fighting have their voice boxes taken out. This is cruel. What kind of saddistic people want to use animals in a cruel way like this?

Professional sports had better clean up their acts because the people are getting fed up with their spoiled attitudes. During the next year I don't plan to attend any professional sports events except minor league.

Former Kentucky Quarterback Lorenzon is 2nd String QB for the New York Giants. WIth Manning having an injury, Lorenzon may get his chance in the NFL

The Browns upset Cincinnati's Bengals today 51-45 and there was great offense and little defense. I keep pulling for the Bengals to make the playoffs but if they can't play better defense than they did today this will be another tough year. Bengal QB Palmer is a terrifec player and kept them in the game to the very end.

Lorenzon got in late in the Giants game today and was 3 for 5 passing. It is good to see him getting to play some in the NFL.

That was a great Super Bowl! Eli Manning and the Giants pulled the upset of a lifetime. It was good to see Lorenzon get a Super Bowl Ring. He will be a free agent and perhaps he will get some playing time in the future. It was good to see Eli cool down the critics with a Super Bowl Winning performance.
