RE: NIBROC suggestions for 2008

I like this idea we will work on this for next year, would you like to help with it let a chamber member know.  It could be done on same night gospel sing (Wed).  Also to the administrator of this site I thought you were going to monitor it to keep off trash.  This site is for constructive comments not individual digs.

That walking poker run is a great idea, all ages, no equipment to have, just a fun walk.
I bet over 150 people would do it.

A great idea.

I suggest getting the BRMC Doctors band to perform during nibroc. They are really good, and the whole community knows them. They did a thing for the Bag Lunch program, and they are great people.

I know they have tried to perform in the past at nibroc and were always blown off, as have some other locals. Seems these should be the groups we try to promote and have open for the big shows. Many festivals start their music earlier and have 4 or 5 bands perform. I'm sure the idea will get shot down though.

These last two posts are right on target. The Doctor's group is very talented and entertaining. They do a lot of good things for our area. They should be a feature of NIBROC each year.

McKenzie Morgan has won all kinds of honors and she performed great in the Beshear-Mongiardo rally this past week. She is a ten year old girl who is talented and poised and she would be a hit at NIBROC. She has sung at Nashville, Pigeon Forge, Branson, Renfro Valley and other places and why shouldn't we feature her in our own show?

We have great local talent. Let's promote these local talents.

As soon as the Expo Center is open move NIBROC out there.

Booths and vendors in one of the parking areas and evening concerts inside

This will nelp South Corbin merchants and eliminate the downtown traffic problem.

NIBROC 2009 at the Southeastern Agricultural and Exposition Center.

I had just moved down here June of 2007. My family and I attended the Nibroc festival. It was really fun and enjoyable. The only thing I would change is the need for a lot more trash cans to be placed everywhere. The couple trash cans we found were over filled, and trash was littering the streets. I also think it would be a big improvement to get more volunteers involved for clean up and pulling trash out of the cans. We don't want to give any visitors the wrong impression about our town.
