RE: Gov. Fletcher

If Brashear does win do you think he will be indicted when he hires a bunch of democrats to replace the bunch of republicans that Fletcher hired and was indicted for or will it just go back to the old way that democrats have always done it here in Kentucky where there is a democrat party man in every county that approves or disapproves state employment?

I beg your pardon! Anything Beshear does will be a huge improvement over Fletcher.

You don't think the $500 thousand we got to tear down the old hospital was a good thing? What about the money for the new civic center, that's not a good thing?

Maybe someone should ask Brashear if he is really against helping this area. Most of you seem to indicate that money spent here is a bad thing. The local people need to know that he will most likely abandon the tri county area like it was before with the democrats.

I heard on the radio the schools had a mock trial for the different races coming up on Tuesday.
The winners were Fletcher, Stan Lee to name just a few. The parents need to realize the students are our future and they know what is best. Of course you would never read that in a paper!

Vote on Tuesday and ask your children who they voted for, they just might teach you something.

Where is the Money? The money to tear down the old hospital  has been announced and celebrated ten times during the Fletcher years, but has it been done? NO! Beshear is the one that will have to come up with the real money, not just cardboard checks.

There is a reason kids are required to have grown up supervision until the age of 18 - they don't always make the best decisions. Do you ask your kids what house to buy? What to wear to the office? Ask your kids what they want for dinner, and they might tell you chocolate cake. If you let your kids make your grown up decisions for you, you and your kids don't have much of a future. I also doubt your story, and since I have a several relatives that work for CIS, I'll be sure to ask.

If that is the best plug you have for Fletcher, he is in big trouble.

yES i DO ASK MY KIDS OPINIONS ON THINGS. tHEY ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT COMES TO DECISIONS. i THINK THE POLLS HAPPENED IN THE HIGH SCHOOLS. i THINK BY THE TIME KIDS REACH THE AGE OF 13 THEY KNOW A LOT MORE THAN YOU THINK.

CALL THE RADIO STATION IT WAS ON THAT THEY HAD A MOCK VOTE. THEY WILL TELL YOU WHO WON. DO YOU THINK I AM LYING. I GUESS CIS IS CORBIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL. I CAN GUESS WHO YOU ARE!

It's OK to ask children their opinions on this, but I wouldn't base my decision on who should run our state or our country on my 11 or 14 year-old's opinion, as smart as they are and as much as I love them.

Why is it in our country that you have to be 18 to vote?

? ?

I rest my case.

PS: I wouldn't doubt that around here Fletcher is who the kids would choose simply because many of their parents are straight-line republican and, like most children, they are heavily influenced by their parents. I'm a republican but I won't be voting for Fletcher.

I can't believe you are even arguing this point with anyone. I believe it was you that mentioned age 13 in one of your posts, and out of the thousands of Corbin students, maybe a dozen or so will vote - maybe. On top of that, no matter what party you prefer, Fletcher will not win on Tuesday.

The point was made that a mock vote was done at school. I just thought it was interesting who the kids picked. Thats all, and you came back with a bunch of negative comments. I listen to my kids. Kids today are bright and smart. They have a lot of good ideas. People who don't listen to children are the ones who have the most trouble out of them. take a moment and listen to your kids. (If you have any)

What negative comments? All I asked is why you keep arguing this position with these posters, but since you brought it up, you didn't just find it interesting as you are now stating, you actually said, and I quote from your post "The parents need to realize the students are our future and they know what is best."

You did say that. That is a quote from your post.

Nobody said that kids were not smart, and nobody said not to listen to their kids. But when you tell people to vote for our elected leaders based on a school pool of teenagers and younger, becasue "They know what is best", as you did, you set yourself up for your comments to be questioned.

Another comment hit it right on the head also, most of these kid's political views are based on the parents political views, just like many adults today are still influenced by their parents political views. Corbin is Fletcher country - I'm not sure why other than the straightline party thinking, so Corbin kids are going to reflect their parents views. I'm sure we can look online at similar polls in other parts of the state, and if Bashear is ahead in the polls in Elizabethtown or Danville, the kids polls would reflect it. If Fletcher is ahead in those towns, the kids polls would likely reflect that also.

But to say kids know what is best on this topic, come on, think about what you are saying.

I made up my mind today I would do everything I can to get Beshear-Mongiardo elected. A friend in Williamsburg called me and told be he and his wife got one of the biggest lies over the phone from the Fletcher campaign supporters that was vile and deceptive. He and his wife were fighting mad. An hour later I went to the Corbin Post Office and saw another friend in the parking lot and he yelled at me to stop for a moment. He said, " I was home and just a few minutes ago we got a call from the Fletcher group and I have never heard such a dirty campaign accusation his people are making. This is typical of the Republican Party and one of the McConnell dirty campaign tricks he is famous for in Kentucky."  A couple of hours later I stopped by a friiends house in Tattersall and he and his wife had head the same message on their voice mail. They were both angry.  Then I went home and the first thing my wife said was "you should hear this horrible phone call that is nother but a stack of lies about Beshear-Mongiardo". It was horrible. There are many good Republican people, but there are some who will stoop to any dirty trick to win. Many claim to be devout in their religion. Each person I talked to today who received these calls are Church going Christian people. We are all fed up with this holier than thou attitude and arrogance of some people. Is spreading lies the night before an election the way Christian people operate? Thank the Good Lord there are going to be many Republicans, Democrats, and Independents voting Beshear-Mongiardo  tomorrow!

It will be a much better atmosphere. When Beshear-Mongiardo take office they won't have a secret committee that creates a list of merit employees to fire and intimidate. They won't bring in people who try to Lord over the women employees and harrass them.

This has been a horrible four years. Fletcher had every opportunity to be a two term Governor but he and his henchmen blew it. Bill Nighbert was an albatross around his neck. This was a big victory for the people of Kentucky.

Great thinking.

We can just go it alone, isolate ourselves from the rest of the world, maybe start our own country.

Things are so perfect here we don't need anyone else or their help. I like it.

We'll secede from the Union.

We'll call ourselves "Fletchbertland", or maybe "Rightousville".

We don't need those imoral, corrupt, spousal cheating, sexual harrassing, alcohol guzzling, substance abusing, arrogent, morally bankrupt, male intern chasing, undercover cop soliciting sinners.

Oh wait - thats the Fletcher and Bush administrations.

Sorry. Gotta rethink this plan.

Tell me again, whats wrong with the "Demos"?

I agree. The last 7 years under Bush-Cheney and the past 4 years under Fletcher-Nighbert have set Democracy back a long, long way. Thank goodnes the Beshear-Mongiardo Team will get us back on the road to integrity and doing what is best for our people. I was talking to a life long Republican today who told me that Fletcher blew his sure victory for a second term when he didn't get rid of the people who were conspiring to get rid of merit employees.

And then he said,"I am so disappointed in Bush and the mess we are in. Now Pakistan is about to get into a civil war and we are about to go to war with Iran. We have worn out our troops and are close to financial disaster. I voted for him twice and I regret it."

The people of this country are beginning to realize the problems we are now in will take years and the sacrifice of many lives and many dollars and we can really tell where it will end up."

I fear for the future of America.

It's not just here, Nighbert cost Fletcher tens of thousands of votes. Nighbert is not respected anywhere in the state except by a few people here, and Fletcher would have improved his chances if he had cut ties with Nighbert long ago.

Angela, I agree with your comments.  Ernie Fletcher is a good person. But after his big victory four years ago he surrounded himself with some selfish and arrogant people. They thought they could run over anyone they wanted to knock down.  If Fletcher had exerted some discipline in dealing with them Tuesday's election could have been much closer. Nighbert should have been fired along with some more of that conspiracy group on firing merit employees. Fletcher failed to sever his ties with them and it destroyed the respect most people had for him.   Except.........for people in this area. Many will go to their graves hating Democrats and blindly following any and all Republicans whether they deserve support or not.  As terrible as George Bush has been as President this area will still go Republican regardless of which Republican is nominated.

I think many of us have been bothered with the Nighbert problem. I don't believe you have a clue as to how many and who are the people disappointed in Nighbert. But we won't have that problem after the inauguration December 12.
This really is no secret.
