Are you talking about the years to come here

It must take you hours to think up these Pee Wee Herman comebacks.

Here Pee Wee, let us spell it out for you. Go back to the original post you edited and read the line, and we'll go slow for you, that says

"O h----w a i t----t h a t s----t h e----F l e t c h e r----a n d----B u s h----a d m i n i s t r a t i o n s.

It must be the complete sentences that throw you.

I think the person was just pointing out that the Democrate don't have a great track record.
Lets look at Bill Clinton and Paul Patton. Both had a lot of issues in there terms. I would say we will have to wait and see what will come next.

Clinton and Patton made mistakes. Bush and Fletchers have been disasters for the people of our State and Nation. Clinton was President when we balanced our budget, increased jobs, reduced welfare, increased the number of police officers, and we were not in a war in a small nation such as Iraq.

Clinton was a very popular President and loved throughout the world. Bush has us hated across the world. Fletcher pardoned people who broke the law before they even came to trial. He also took the 5th Amendment to keep from getting indicted. The hot item in the Republican Primaries is Rudy Guiliani. He is pro-Abortion, married three times, and a liberal from New York. Any Democrat in that same situation would be condemned by Rev. Pat Robertson as being evil and bound for hell. But when a Republican has those beliefs it is perfectly ok to the rightwing Republicans.

The Bush-Cheney team has gotten us into deep debt, people are unable to pay their mortgage payments, gasoline prices are going high again, Pakistan is about to break into a Civil War which will make more chaos and hard times for our brave men and women fighting for their lives in a huge mess in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we are about to go to war with Iran. Wake up! This is a huge mess that will cost us a fortune to get out of in the future. Clinton and Patton are choir boys compared to the Bush-Cheney-Fletcher-Nighbert crowd.

Okay, take a deep breath,...all of you. Kentucky elected a new Governor. Mr. Fletcher was very gracious in his concession speech and has publicly stated that he will help in the transition as much as possible. Mr Beshear, has already rolled up his sleeves and gotten to work for Kentucky. So if the previous Governor and the newly elected Governor are willing to work together to make things smooth, why are you fighting?

The thing about elections is that if you're on the ballot, you're in it to win it. We've all witnessed the times when that gets out of hand and the phone call mentioned earlier in the message boards is an example of that. Poor judgement and an unnecessary attack. Those fear tactics have been successful in the past, so you can't really blame the people who acted out of habit. Then again, the campaign staff that did it never expected a call to go out across the state from your own Rev. John Dunaway. Whenever the light of truth shines, fears fade like shadows.

As to mistakes, we all make them. Political figures, like our favorite entertainers, are always in the spotlight so it's easy to sit in front of your computer and hurl judgements at them. But the truth remains that our political world, unlike our favorite entertainers, are required to make decisions that affect our daily lives. We, the people, have sit too long on our couches in judgement and apathy. It's time to roll up our sleeves and ask what WE can do to keep our politicians focussed in positive directions, to think up creative and positive solutions to the problems we all face, it's time to stop hurling insults and start taking action on the things that really matter. You don't elect an official based on a passion issue. You elect an official who will be a good administrator and a good steward of the public's money and resources. But once an election is decided, there are thousands of things that YOU can do to help them. Identify the problem areas in your community, in your surrounding area, in the state, the nation, and even globally. The poet, Jesse Stuart, from the mountains of Kentucky once wrote a powerful poem and in it his stated "if this nation is a body, then Kentucky is it's heart". I truly believe that there are no more creative thinkers than Kentuckians, and if we put out minds to it, we can literally change the world!

Let's just get controversial and say that you're passionate about "Right to Life" or "Pro Choice". For the record you need to know that issue was created solely to polarlize people to vote one way or the other because it's an issue that people feel strongly about one way or the other. But if you truly look at the issue, there are loads of things that individuals can come together and work on that unite rather than divide. We can take a look at our adoption laws, which are prohibitive to many wonderful potential parents out there. We could provide better counseling to keep people from getting pregnant in the first place. We could provide "Homes for Unwed Mothers" so they don't feel outcast when they learn they are pregnant. We could provide parenting classes, job training, affordable day care. mentoring programs and job training programs so that these mothers can find hope in creating a home for their children. Maybe your talent is in cooking traditional meals so children get a good start in life. Point is, you can make a better differnece that just holding a protest sign or .

There are a thousand things we can do that positively affect that child once it is born. Be a mentor. So quit fighting about the initial issue amd start thinking solutions. Who knows, you're solution could make all the differece in the world.. United we stand, divided we fall. Get busy my friends, and come up with simple solutions that lessen the burden.

Some very good points there Susan.

I don't understand the issue involving Rev. Dunaway, would you mind explaining that please.

The sad thing is, the politics will never go away, and never diminish as to the controlling parties agenda regarding just about everything you mentioned, and those that you didn't.

My uncle used to say that politics and religion was the only way a common man could make himself heard, no matter if what he said was the truth or not, but what he believed to be true or not. I agree with that more and more as I get older and grow concerned with my town, state and countries future.

You wrote before that you felt Beshear would not abandon the tri county area if he won the election. Well, he won, and this area carried republician as most thought it would, so, we'll see how things go on your prediction.

I'm a republician, but voted democrat, and have advertised it very loudly of late, expressing my total discontent with the republicians in the past few years. Would I change, I doubt it, but, I've not voted for the party in years, only the person running.

And my Bible says the Lord will forgive us our sins. If you judge me and conclude that I don't go to church, you are wrong.

Beshear said in his speech that he would appoint a transition team soon. Has anyone heard if local people will be on that team? By local I mean Whitley, Laurel or Knox. OK I will even throw in Bell, Clay, McCreary, Wayne. I hope it will not be  democrat politics as usual with only Lexington, Louisville, Bowling Green, etc. represented. I think Mr Terrell should be named to the transition team. He knows the needs of this area and he has great people skills.

There's not anyone that lives south of Lexington on that team. Tells you what Brashear thinks of southeast Kentucky. Its going to be a long, cold four years for us.

Today's front page of the Lexington Herald tells about the last minute effort the Fletcher supporters made to slander Beshear and Mongiardo. It backfired. We don't want to elect leaders who engage in that kind of dirty politics.

You're exactly right.

And, we didn't elect them. The entire state didn't elect them.

That's the only way republicians had a chance. Disinformation.

Here is another great Fletcher/Nighbert story, trying to buy votes the last two months of the election by paving people's streets.

A spending spree by the Transportation Cabinet in the final months of former Governor Ernie Fletcher's term leaves the State's Contingency Fund at dangerously low levels.

The Cabinet spent 99% of the money appropriated to the Highway Construction Contingency Account on blacktopping local roads.

That leaves the new Administration with about $650-thousand to spend, with more than half the fiscal year still remaining.

New Transportation Cabinet Secretary Joe Prather said the money won't be enough to cover unforeseen emergencies the rest of the year.

Former Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert declined to comment.
