Historic Wisdom

Senator Jack S. Fogbound said in 1806 " When there is open debate there is a propensity and intensity to marvelously improve. When the standard of living for the poor and middle class soars some uppity people resent these changes and seek to restrain open debate. When open debate is impaired and discontinued there will be revolution. When there is revolution some of you maggots are going be hurt."

This statement has stood the test of time and is remembered as one of the most profound statements in our nation's history. It was a shame nobody paid any attention to this wise saying. Two weeks after Senator Fogbound's brilliant words, he was run down and killed by a horse and buggy driven by his ex-wife Ima Fogbound.

This statement is from the book, "FOGBOUND" by his son, U. R. Fogbound.

"Great spirits will always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds."

- Albert Einstein

Read throughout these posts, read the editorials in both papers, and talk and listen to people in town. You will quickly find out who the Great Spirits are, and also who the mediocre minds belong to.

One hint, those that talk about change and improvement in a positive manor are the great spirits, those who are defensive, badmouth those who have ideas and think everything is perfect are the mediocre minds.

Before you read these and then 5 seconds later think up sarcasm, try actually thinking about the meaning behind the words. They're not rules, just common sense.
