There is another article today about how much housing prices have fallen. I hope they don't fall very much more because it will reduce our equity in our property. This is a tough time for people to be able to make it from one pay check to the next one.
Housing prices in and around corbin need to fall. Take a look at the real estate books, and you'll be shocked. I was, an still am.
We're not in a big city, yet our housing prices reflect those of lexington and knoxville, but the quality of many of the homes isn't there. Same goes for land and lots in these new subdivisions.
Sure, we love the big prices if we're selling, but if you're buying, they're coming down to what they're really worth.
And I pity the poor folks that buy in this inflated market, then has to pay the taxes and insurance on the home based on the purchase price.
And, you think these realtors know anything about real estate. Give one a call. All they ask is how much you can afford, and look at the real estate guide, and then they tell you they can sell you any house in the book.
Oh, and if you're selling,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,good luck.
They fill out their paper on your house, take a picture, and that's it. That's what they give you for their 6%.
The rest of the time they're out trying to sell their own lots in their own little subdivision projects. There should be a law against them pushing their own privately owned projects and not telling you about it.
