RE: Corbin Main Street Lunch and Lecture Series

If you don't like the rules, leave, and start your own board. The first thing you'll find out, is it isn't free. You pay a monthly fee to keep this board running. It's like buying a car, there's a basic fee, and then when you add all sorts of options with the operation of the board, it costs you more.

You're getting a freebie here, and you don't realize it. The person that gets his IP address banned all the time should know that. If he's smart enough to know how to use that program, he should know how these boards work. I think he just wants to complain. Kick him off, it won't bother me one bit.

If the administrator started making you register, even with a user name, and then charged you $5 a month to use the board, where would your free speech stuff be then?

I entered this topic thinking I would get some information regarding the lecture series. So far, I haven't read anything pertaining to the topic entitled "Corbin Main Street Lunch and Lecture Series." That seems to be true on the majority of the topics listed. After one or two entries, the comments turn to mud slinging. Who needs that? Is this what you want outsiders to read when they enter the city of Corbin's message boards? That should really give them a great impression about the people who live in Corbin. Come on, folks! Why not stick to the subject matter?

You are pretty adept to mud slinging as well. The Home Page of this website shows several times
each minute the schedule, dates, place and time period each lecture covers. It is one of the many things this website provides at no cost.

You are absolutely correct. The home page does show the schedule, dates, and time period covered in each lecture. I Did take the time to see that, but what I was hoping for was input from someone who had attended the first lecture and their comments on the material covered. After all, the topic did say, ... Lecture Series, and that is what I expected to read about. I am very interested in KY/TN/VA history.
I appreciate the information submitted in all caps. Sometimes the small print is a bit difficult to read. That comes with age, ya' know! Maybe I should use a larger print! BTW, I see you have done your research! I'm honored! Who do I thank?

I agree totally. I have been to all but one of the lectures and they are wonderful. I can't wait for the ones this months. I here one will be about corbins racial history it will be good to finally get the true story instead of the lies that have been told over the years. We must face our past head on and deal with it. Sharea is brave for doing this.

This is definately a one-sided board. I have noticed posts before that were not there the next day.

When I bring the message board up on my computer I don't do it with an IP address from Hong Kong, and then another one from Europe, and another one from Mexico. That is against the rules under which good message boards operate. I notice that many people express different opinions on here and it looks like it is handled with fairness and consistency. Just follow the rules.

There is a sarcastic ring to the above post.
