Local Boards What about the School Board?

Looks like every board has been covered but the Corbin School Board. Friday's paper sounded like it would have been a good meeting. How do you think the board is doing? Teacher's are doing pretty good based on test scores. I belive the Herald said they were one of the top 10 districts in the state.

I think the board is being very proactive, and thats what we need. I wish they'd push the new high school issue harder, we need one now, not in 7 years.

From the meeting minutes, I agreed with their changes. I hope they get someone qualified and not just someones relative or drinking buddy.

They're doing well, we've got a good bunch.

I agree. I think we have an excellent school board. They seem to be very pro-active, and can agree to disagree on issues, all the while keeping education the number one priority. And their work is paying off, since we have top quality schools.

Lets see if we can get the school board to show their meetings on TV.

If you know a school board member ask them why they don't.

Excellent idea, they can use the Redhound Broadcasting System.

A truly outstanding idea. Who do we call.

It would be a good idea for the school board meetings to be on TV.

That would bring the meetings out in the open and educate the public.

Knox County used to show their school board meetings on the local channel.

Maybe they still do, not sure.

Has anyone talked to them yet about televising the school board meetings? If I know any of the school board members personally I would ask them myself. The meetings need to be made as public as possible. I can see the old head members not liking the idea and also McNeil and Tremaine but you would think that the newly elected school board member would jump on this for a positive change.
