The next Mayor of Corbin ???

It is already being said that McBurney will not seek re-election after his term as mayor is up. If this turns out to be true I hope Bob Terrell Sr will move into the city so that he can run for the position. He would make a good one!

I totally agree!! Bob will be the man for the job and I have no doubt that he'll do a wonderful job. He already has the community in his heart and has done SO much for Corbin to help other's. His business knowledge and experience exceeds his fine reputation. Family values are, by far, to be admired. The list is endless and it continues to get longer. He really does care. He's such a fine man.

McBurney, not to say a single thing negative about him as I understand that he's doing a wonderful job as well but if re-election does come around I do strongly hope that Bob Sr. runs.

Thanks for your comments, but I believe Mayor McBurney is doing a fine job. I don't have any desire to oppose a good friend and a very honest and competent leader such as Mayor McBurney.

He is deeply involved in the business of the city and he wants to help our area improve and have a better quality of life. Again, thanks for your kind comments.

Bob Terrell Sr.

As much as I'd love to see Bob run, he can't, he doesn't live in the city. So that's a dead issue.

I really hope Willard runs again. He's done a fine job.

What scares me is if Williamson tries to run. That's all we need again, a clown like him in office. Or Miller, another stick in the mud. Miller was actually worse than Williamson.

The pickings would be slim.

If I was the current Mayor I would be careful what I said to anyone.

As for the next mayor, I have heard talk of Terrell, Tye, Miller and Onkst.

So now you think you're the mayor of Corbin, and you are scared to speak to anyone.

Your Schizophrenia and Paranoia are medically and emotionally linked. lf you wake up tomorrow and think that you are the Queen of England and feel like the paparazzi is following you in your PJ's, click your heels together say over and over "There is no place like The Depot. There is no place like The Depot." Then you might try taking a couple Zyprexa.

As for the next mayoral race consisting of Terrell, Tye, Miller and Onkst, you left off your imaginary candidate list Elvis, Darth Vader, Mr. Ed, and Rex the Wonder Dog.

Several posts above I told you I fully support Willard McBurney. At this  point in life we have no interest in moving out of our house into Corbin(We are willing to be annexed) and if we did we would vote for Mayor McBurney.

Bob Terrell, Sr.

No need to get ugly and show yourself here. I was just throwing out some names that I have heard as possible mayor candidates in the 2010 election.

I don't know what you're talking about so lighten up.

I'm sure it was just a slip-up on your part, but you somehow mistakenly deleted your original comments in your last post. I thought I'd correct your mistake for you. I believe it was more than just throwing out some names. Selective memory in another symptom.

The rumor I have heard is that when Carpenter becomes "Chairman and CEO" of the Exposition Center, Onkst will replace Carpenter as head of the Chamber, and Industrial Development. Tourism will also come under his leadership.

There is a desire to get all three, Chamber, and Economic Development. Very quickly after this change Tourism will be taken back under this one umbrella. That looks like a good move for them to combine everything, and use some leaders with great experience in these key positions. Onkst would report direct to Carpenter.

What are you talking about?

Only the board administrator can delete anonymous posting comments.

If there is something you don't like you just zap it from the board.

So if you will stop deleting comments no one will have to try to remember what was said.

I love it.

To the poster above this one, it seems that you can't remember your own posted words, let alone what you accusing the administrator of deleting.

I've been reading this topic since it was started, and haven't seen any posts disappear.

I would add to the list "delusional" also.

He was a good commissioner.

Just a Question that I am curious about, as a new person to the area (7 Years) I contantly hear about families who have great Political Power.

Could I ask who these top 3-5 Families are? Not a question intending to hurt anyone, just wondering about the Political Landscape and how it was sorta formed and how it influences today's Politics?

Nothing wrong with having a good background in Politics and strong roots to the area, Just Curious, maybe some of the Old Times can shed some light here.

Onkst has already said he wouldn't want to be sitting in a restaurant next to anyone drinking a beer, that was his comment when they passed the no alcohol sales on sundays issue.

Onkst would be too biased, too many friends to keep up.

We need a totally neutral person.

Willard will win if he runs, he's the top dog in this fight.

Huffs, Bartons, Forcht, Terrells, Browns, Tiptons, and Mitchells

Don't agree with the Tiptons, they're just along for the ride with Forcht.

I'd add the Catron's, they're in close with Mitch McConnell.
