Chamber of Commerce Meeting report, thank you.

The article in the weekly paper covering the Chamber's meeting was a good one. One of the best I can remember in a long time. Thanks Trent for a good article.

One thing it didn't have in it that I would like to know, is how many member business's there are in the Chamber of Commerce.

And, the nominees for the next board members. Any guesses?

David Keck's comment was very enlightening, I wonder who that person he was speaking of is. Moral issues! Interesting.

If anyone here is a member, or knows a member, would they care to call them and ask them who the nominees are, the article said a survey was sent to all the member for their vote one the new directors.

Again, this was a very informative article.

The chamber is not a part of local government. It is a private organization made up of business people and individuals both within and without of the city who pay dues to the chamber. The chamber elects its own board members from its membership. They are not appointed by local leaders. If you have interest in it then perhaps you should join and pay dues and then you would not have to ask for help on the message board. Once you pay your dues it might actually become some of your business.

What do you mean it might actually become some of your business? That sounds like it is not the business of some members? What do you mean?

The poster asked ...

"

It is obvious that the poster is not a member of the Chamber so why would it be any of their business? It they want to they can join the Chamber and be a part of it. The Chamber is a private organization. It is not a part of local government.

Thank you poster, your smart alec, arrogant, snobbish attitude is exactly why people think the chamber of commerc board is a joke. You do nothing for the town. You do nothing for the business's you supposedly represent, except charge them dues. And, I find out now, you're going to give over $10 to buy a couple of trailers to haul Bruce Carpenters nibroc stuff around in, and to set up a trailer around town to tell people what the chamber can do for them.

Take your around and talk to the business owners. We don't want a trailer set up where you do your shift to hand out brochures and give away hot dogs and pepsi. Tell the business people what you can do for them.

Why are you being so ugly with the poster? What difference does it make to you if, as you say, you are not involved with the chamber? Do you have a childhood grudge with Carpenter?
