Our incumbent Mayor and Commission's re-election platform, is this it?

Could the present leaders re-election campaign read something like this:

"We, the leaders of the City of Corbin, feel we should be re-elected as we have done the following for Corbin;

(can anyone fill in the blanks)

Another waste of a topic. More BS from the outside looking in. Again, you people are green with envy over the current elected leaders. Corbin finally gets a good Mayor and four good Commissioners and you spend time typing out BS posts in an attempt to puff up your own deflated egos. Your opinions are always self serving and hardly anyone listens to them. This is made very clear by looking at the large number of things in Corbin that are not going your way right now even though Corbin is in the best position it has ever been in, there is news of new growth almost every day and the future looks brighter than ever. You definately play the game in the loosers bracket. But go ahead with your copy and paste of old economic statistics that you have accumulated over the years and let us hear from you.

I have no problem with the Mayor or Commissioners, in fact I think Mayor McBurney is a nice guy and so are Commissioners Ferris, Shelton, Gregory Lynch, voted for all of them. But just because I voted for them doesn't mean I have don't watch what kind of job they are doing while they are in their city positions. One or two of you act like when someone is voted in, that means we have to agree with everything they do. I was hired by my company and boss to do a job because they believed in me, but that doesn't mean they just put me in my job and don't hold me accountable for my performance. Anyone can be replaced.

But my question is, what new daily growth, or even yearly growth, are you referring to?

You are like a couple of other people on here that like to throw out empty comments without any facts. At least these comments you so humorously disagree with have some facts to them.

Lets hear about the growth. Applebee's? I read in other posts that the city should stay out of retail and private business deals such as the Harley Davidson motorcycle dealership, but are you wanting to give someone with the city credit when one of these deals occures, and they absolutely nothing to do with it?

You're right, everything is perfect, couldn't be better, we are kicking London, Danville, Berea and every other city's butts out there, since it sounds like you've really convinced yourself of that. But lets hear your daily economy, job and tax revenue growth story anyway.

Who gave them credit for Applebee's? I must have missed that one.

The point of your post is right on the money though. Expecting elected officials to be the savior when it comes to economic growth is silly. Private individuals like A.J. and Jimmy Vance and others have and always will lead the way. You seem to understand the issues perfectly.
