I read on another topic about people who live here but license their cars in other states like Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, etc. in order to avoid taxes and having to get insurance. This is illegal and it is wrong. I think our police should crack down on this. We can help them.
Here's an idea. How about turning people in that we know do this. Maybe we could even post their name and license plate numbers on this message board since there are so many people that read it. Is this a good idea? Any suggestions.
The police can't pull over a car because of it's license tag. There's no probable cause or reasonable suspicion, unless they commit a traffic violation.
You can report them, the state has a toll free number, and you call in the tag, and the address where the vehicle is located, such as your neighbor's, and then they'll pick it up and they'll pay the money they've screwed the state out of, plus a penalty.
These cars can usually be found in your bigger subdivisions, just drive around.
Post them here if you wish, they're committing a crime, maybe you'll get a reward.
