Varsity Club: How about selling Redhound items all the time.

Ok, a suggestion for our Varsity Club.

In the last 3 weeks, I've been trying to buy some new Redhound T-Shirts, jackets and such, with no luck.

The only two good sourses is Lowes Sporting Goods, and the place out past Ky Fried Chicken. Penny's, K Mart and Walmart has them sometimes, but not always, and they're all the same design.

Lowes and the other place, only carry the minimum they have to, and never the sizes you need. They say they'll make them, or order them, but, that takes days. When you ask, they just say "we're sold out. I don't know when we'll have any more". And if you order them, I've yet to get them on the promised day.

Should I order, maybe yes, but, I want them when I want them, and now.

How about the varsity club investing some funds into getting a bunch of different stuff made up, and selling them at the home games. Set up a table in the lobby or such, and sell then. I think it would do well. The club members could volunteer to rotate selling at the table, so no one is hit all the time.

It would be a several thousand dollar investment up front, but it would be a great service for redhound fans.

There is another store off of 18th St behind Advance Auto that sells a lot of Corbin stuff.    They are much better to deal with than Lowes.

I like the idea of the Varsity Club doing this, as they would get all the profit to use for their projects.

I didn't know about the 18th st. store. I'll check it out.

Lowes Sporting Goods and the other one are terrible to deal with.

I would much rather give my money to the varsity club than a regular business. It would support the club as well as the schools.

Good idea.

They could make the retail goods assignment a rotating job, like the Fall Tournament director.

The Varsity Club buys most of their merchandise from Lowes, whose owners live in London and they pay a premium price on much of it, but some members benefit in other ways from this relationship.
