2008 Cumberland Falls Invitational: More local teams please.

First of all, it was a good tournament, some really good talent could be seen in the other teams, as well as Corbin's team. Well organized as usual, and the club is commended for putting on a top notch tournament.

But, I have some issues. And let me say, I've bought reserved tickets for the last 9 years for this tournament.

I attended every day of the tournament. It was well organized it seemed, but, I feel very strongly that there should be at least half the teams from around the area. That's my opinion, and I voiced it with several of the varsity club members. I hope they can look into this for next year. Barbourville, Knox Central, Clay County, South Laurel, Madison Central, and other closer teams would have made a good showing, and brought in tons of fans.

I've attended every tournament for years. And local teams bring in the fans, and the bucks.

The issue of the reserved seats needs to be looked into more closely. I do not like the way the seating is handled.

One thing I do not like, is I was sent a letter as a Corbin season ticket holder, about buying seats for the tournament. It stated that I may not get the seats, meaning the specific seats, that I currently have for the season. Why not. It should be no problem, as long as we get our request in on time. I disagree with this issue.

Also, the folding seats on the floor. Those are good seats, but we weren't told of them being available.

Someone mentioned that priority is given to the sponsors of the tournament as far as seating is concerned. I understand that, as without the sponsors, we wouldn't have a tournament. But, if you're going to send out letters to corbin redhound season ticket holders, then they should receive equal priority. If not, don't send out the letters. As I said, give the corbin season ticket holders a time frame to reply, and then, put the rest of the seats on the block.

Please take this as a constructive suggestion, as it is meant to be. The tournament was good, and I enjoyed all the games.

We can't wait till next year.

I agree, I think the tournament should have at least 3 or 4 of the teams close to home.

The attendance was down this year, and it was due to this issue, no matter how you look at it.
