A message to the two new commissioner candidates: What is your stance on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

To Ed Tye and Ms. Hagan,

I read the little blurb in the paper on you both, but, it really said nothing. I know you won't answer here, but, maybe you'll read this, or hear of it, and someone else will post it here.

I'd like to know your stance on the following, as I already know the mayor and present commissioners, so, if you would, what do you think about:

1. Knox county occupational tax money issue. Will you agressively try to get our tax money back.

2. Annexation: will you come up with some kind of plan to entice people to want to come into the city.

3. Property tax bills: if it happens again, will you truly hold someone accountable and replace them.

4. Ambulance service: how do you feel about a fire dept ambulance service.

5. Sunday alcohol sales: are you for it or against it.

6. Committee members and chairs: will you continue to allow out of the city residents to serve, or will you confine it to only in city folks. And, if the latter is your feelings, will you remove the present out of the city members.

7. Insurance premium tax: are you for it, or against it.

8. Downtown program: Do you support it, or not.

9. HUD rental homes: Do you favor a limit to the number allowed in the city limits, or not.

10. Police Dept: are you in favor of better pay for our police officers, to keep them here, and not be a training ground for officers to start in corbin and then leave for better paying departments.

These are just a few, anyone else please feel free to add to the list.

Lets come up with some more.

As much as I would hope they would answer these question, they won't, unless they're in a public forum such as a few years ago. And then, it was planned and canned comments.

Ed Tye, while a fine person, is not a good candidate for the office as he'll be just as before, a go along. Ms. Hagan, a former city employee I believe, is the big question mark here. She has no track record, so we wouldn't know what to expect. And that's fine.
