The Lion's Den on the mountain top

We went to eat at the new restaurant tonight. Bring your wallet if you go there as it is priced really high! The salad, sold seperately, was good but how can you really mess up a bowl of lettuse? We ordered the 'New Orleans style food' and it was not what it was suppose to be at all. It was not 'tasty' and couldn't be eaten. I saw the owner's taking pictures of some dishes for advertisement but we were invisable to them. We weren't once asked how our food was and we were right there basically eating with them! The service was very slow for a soup and salad meal. That was our last time to eat there. Perhaps if we'd paid out the buttocks for some beef it may very well be good, but our meal was not at all.

The decor was somewhat nice. The red fake roses in the vase and the glowing purple rose did make us feel as if we were in a chinese restaurant and not in a 'safari' restaurant.

All in all... we've been there, done that. ... and that is all I have to say.

You're the first one I've heard that's eaten there. I've thought about it, but, haven't wanted to chance it yet.

Guess I'll give it a little more time, and hopefully a few more reviews.

Better you than me to try it again. When I go out to dine I like to have the full deal as I'm glad to be away from home and cooking for our crew. It's my time to be waited on :) They were literally conducting business with their laptops on the table next to where we were seated. Publically talking about hiring and firing of staff. Not proper at all!! Now keeping in mind that the restaurant was just about empty but they still sat us in, what felt like, the office area!! No kindness was offered but the 'hello' from our waitress. No one else! I can say to beware of the Gumbo (canned yuck) and the ever so costly Shrimp Jamba-something!! HORRIBLE! Left it sitting there on the table in a full bowl!! It was canned mixes of odd things that I don't believe, should have been in there!! LOL!

Perhaps in time they will master the art of good food and the prices will be worth the food. Not yet though, in my opinion. Wishing them well but they do need to get their heads out of the clouds and remember what they came from and at least... say hello to their guest. They should have been thrilled to see us!! We were just thrilled to leave. Burger King took good care of us that night.

I think I'll take your advice Sleepless. I talked with a couple of people today that have eaten there and they had similiar experiences. I hope it gets better, but, they need to work on it fast or they'll be closing the doors.

This place is up and running now, but, still some bugs to be worked out.

The prices are high, but, we'll see how they fare.

Service is the worst I've ever seen though.

We'll see.

Remember, it's an indepently owned and operated restaurant. Give them some time and I' think it'll go.

Good Luck.

Well, I'll tell ya. We ate here last week, and it was excellent. The food was fantastic, the service good, an overall outstanding evening.

A little expensive, but, for our meal, it was worth it.

I hope it goes well for them from now on.

Good luck
