I've talked with many folks lately about tourist oriented events for Corbin, and we all came to ask the same question, who is the ultimately responsible group for finding, scheduling and putting on these events.

It seems that Tourism, Downtown, Chamber of Commerce, and Economic Dev. are working agatinst each other.

Take NIBROC. Why is Carpenter in on this. Shouldn't it be Tourism, or now the Downtown manager running this show.

The horse show that WON"T be here this year, who should that be.

And, the car shows, Downtown or someone else.

Is it done depending on the location of the events. Or who's funding them.

It would seem that Tourism should be the ultimate decision making authority for all of them.

And, I feel this will become an even greater issue if and when the new Expo Center is finished.

I think it's something we need to think about.
