NEWSFLASH: Corbin leaders make a decision, FINALLY!!!!

So our fearless leaders finally make a decision. They're going to bring suit against Knox County for our own money. They're actually going to do something. I believe they said this has been in the works for some time now. I wonder what they were waiting for, pigs to fly?

We all know politicians never even go to the bathroom without an agenda, and our elected officials are no different. So what made them wake up and smell the coffee now?

Could it be, someone finally told them they have nothing coming from this governor, and they better find some money to finish and run the Expo Center when it's done. They'll get nothing from the state, so you better come up with your own plan? That sounds logical to me.

The easiest thing to do, for the logically thinking, would be to find the easiest source of income that you're not realizing to it's potential, and make it work for you. What would that be? Taxes, no, there's enough of them now. Fees? For what, city stickers, dog licenses, raise the occupational tax (it's really not a tax, but a license fee)?

The obvious answer was to go after the money that this and the previous commission allowed Knox County to walk away with. Knox refused, and we backed off like a scared kitten. Now, it's put up or shut up, or it soon will be, with regard to the Expo Center. We have to pay to finish it, and then run it, as our elected officials and contemptous city committee chairs ailenated the new governor, so we got nothing coming from him financially.

Some will praise the officials for finally acting. What they should do, is make them tell us what took them so long.

And to think, at least two of these officials will be re-elected no matter what, as there is only two others running against them.
