Congrats to the new Tourism Committee appointee's, and to the mayor for choosing some folks that I feel will do the commission proud.
Suze Razmus, Betty Comer, and Nick Griewe are fine examples of civic minded people, partciularly folks that you can approach and talk to about things. Unlike Estep, they aren't always trying to get away from you while you're talking to them. I didn't know Nick was part owner of the Dinners Made Simple in the South Corbin Shopping Center, but that's fine, that is a good place to get a bite to eat. I patronized it quite often.
I think Steve McBurney is the new chairman, and that's fine too.
The only stick in the mud will be Tipton, and thats only if they let him. The danger here will be listening to his "we tried that, it didn't work", or something similiar. If they stay away from Carpenter, they'll do fine. Nibroc is coming up, and we'll see what they all have planned.
Personally, I've always thought that NIBROC should be managed by the Tourism Committee, but, I never wanted to bring that up with Estep on the chair. It really should be. Or, if it's to stay downtown, pass it on to the Downtown manager Sharae Meyers.
