I hope the person who is obsessed with telling people "we are sure gonna miss you" to people who are suggesting ideas on how we can improve things will shut up and listen to these comments. I agree, NIBROC should be more family and local area oriented. Thanks to those of you who provide ideas, and we need you to come to NIBROC and help us improve it. We don't want to "miss you, NiBROC is for all of you", not just for a few bosses.

NIBROC belongs to all the people of this area. It is not just a toy for a few. Even if I don't like the bosses who run it I plan to attend because it goes back over 50 years and there have been many of our fine citizens who have given a lot of effort and energy in making this our tradition. Many of those citizens have passed away, but they continue to live on in our memories.

Joan Jett is one of the performers according to the newspapers, although I haven't seen anything else about it since the papers ran their stories weeks ago. From what I've read online, it is surprising we would get her for nibroc.

We'd love to see some facts and figures. There are none that we know of. The tourism asked for them the last 2 years, and were never given them. This year, they never even asked.

Do you have some figures.

You Gotta be Kidding, the Tourism Board can't even remember if they even have a Budget at this point, the Chairman is in Training at Wizard School to do Magic Tricks in Pideon Forge and the rest of the Outside The City Limits Gang is no where to be found.

Nibroc is always fun for our area but as far a s facts & figures go it would be "like pulling a Rabbit out of a hat"

We do have some very talented folks that work hard on Nibroc, but the Business part is very shady.

Starship should be a good show, Mickey Thomas was the lead vocalist for most of their hits, and I'm sure he'll do OK on the Jefferson Starship stuff also. Joan Jett is a wierd choice though, not what NIBROC is about. People can bring their kids to Starship, let them ride the rides, listen to the concert, do what they want to do. Can't do that with Joan Jett, and I won't be coming to Nibroc on Saturday night.

I believe there should be a reward offerec to help the Tourism Chairman find his lost budget. It is really hard to handle when you lose your budget.

any of the concerts at Nibroc is ususally good, the only thing that I found that I do not like is that if you are not one of the elite or know them you do not get a ticket and you don't get a good seat and have to deal with everyone pushing and acting like they haven't been in public before. If it is FREE to the public why give out tickets to any, let Everyone get there and get a seat on there own.
And why can't you find out anything about the Nibroc, what is the big secret.
it is only a few weeks away, it seems they should be adveristing about it to get more people than ever from year to year.

I remember when this website provided great information about NIBROC but I heard the head of NIBROC decided to use another website. Why? This one showed a map and schedule of the events, music clips from the performers, and hundreds of photos of people attending NIBROC. That was a huge mistake. Why?

Maybe that's where his nibroc budget expenditures are. I doubt it though. I wonder if he uses the tourism money to pay his bill at the Depot.

My suggestion to the nibroc people was that instead of having booths and such on both sides of main street, only use one side and start at gordon and go all the way to 7th if you have to. We love nibroc, and many times it's the only time I see some frineds all year.

People love to stop and talk, and the small areas between both sides of the streets booth's don't always allow that.

Put them on one side all the way down.

Certainly agree with the Last Poster, vendors on both sides creates a Problem with Large crowds, it's really a Saftey issue with that much traffic of people in such a confined area.

Much Safer and Easier to spread this as suggested! This was a Suggestion from last year and is actually still posted I believe on this site. Looks like the Committee would take Saftey a little more serious.

It was suggested a few years ago, and the "NO" had no explanation. One reason they gave was the electrical support was already in place in the existing areas. When it was explained that all of that "support" was temporary and could be moved easily, with the use of qualified people of course, the next response was "they are so busy, they wouldn't have time now".

Maybe we need a new chairman that will listen.

Another suggestion, take the 4 wheelers and such away from those people that run nibroc and ride them up and down the main street just to be seen. They cause more congestion than they know. They can walk like the rest of us.

It's time for the volleyball to move, or drop it. We're at nibroc every year, have been since before the volleyball started. It's a good event, but, it has passed it's prime as a main draw, and most folks don't even watch it.

Keep the volleyball, but move it somewhere else. Use 1st street for pedistrian traffic or line it with booths. It's next to the park, so those vendors will have good traffic.

We need to change some things up, and that's one of them.

THOSE PEOPLE THAT RUN NIBROC NEED THIER VECHICLES TO KEEP A EYE ON WHAT IS GOING ON DURING THE EVENT.MAYBE IF MORE PEOPLE WERE INVOLVED MAYBE THOSE PEOPLE COULD ENJOY NIBROC INSTEAD OF MAKING SURE EVERYONE ELSE IS.

Sorry, can't agree on the riding thing. When they force their way through the crowds, making children and old people move and spill their drinks and food just so they can get through, NO. They can walk. Those little carts are their status symbols of "I'm the man". They serve no purpose except on set up night when they are directing the vendors. And it's always just the 2 or 3 riding, all the other volunteers are walking, having to carry or use carts to haul their stuff. Been there, volunteered, done that, know all the excuses. They're lazy, and that's that. (except for set up night)
