RE: NIBROC

Do you let your 8 year old watch TV  Commercial alone are just as bad  I see your point but TV and rap music is just as bad  Even some cartoons  I am taking my kids  I think it will be great and they are under 10

According to the paper today, the Times Tribune, Joan Jett has two types of shows she puts on. One the standard type, and one where there is a more family oriented audience.  I commend her for that if it is true.  I have been to some other shows, comedians and such, and they have acts they do when there are a lot of kids in the audience. It's called being a professional entertainer.  They can play their act to any audience.

Last night was fantastic.  The show was outstanding.

This years nibroc is a great one.

FYI  I found tickets to buy for joan jett for another concert and they are $125 a piece   yes thats right one hundred twenty five dollars a piece  Now how many people in corbin, knox, laurel, whitley can afford that  Nibroc has her for free
Thats what Nibroc is all about is giving the people a chance to see a great concert for free.  Thanks to all who help put on Nibroc.  Especially Bruce Carpenter, City of Corbin, Chamber of Comm., Tourism and all.  Its greatly appreciated.

FYI  Don't know where you found these tickets, but at that price you should be sitting in Joan Jett's dressing room.

Joan Jett by herself is available for $25 through ticketmaster. For $122 first 10 rows she opens for Aerosmith - slight difference - and you can get in to those shows for $39 bucks General Admission.

Nibroc tickets also cost money - just divide the sponsorship money by number of tickets in the sponsorship package and Joan Jett cost a hundred bucks or so per ticket at nibroc (I know, we sponsored).

If you want to see her again for free, she has another half-dozen or so free shows remaining this year added to the twenty-plus she has already played in 2007.

Don't get me wrong, free is great (in most cases anyway) but there is no reason to exaggertate the facts and overstate the value to sell whatever point it is you are trying to sell.

The show was great last night. (the sound was off a little, but still good).  We had our grandkids there, and heard nothing more than you'd hear on TV.  A great show.

There had to be at least 3 or 4 thousand people in the stage area last night.

Nibroc was packed, as usual.

All the griping and complaining aside, all the personal issues aside, it was a fantasatic nibroc this year.

Good job to all involved.

yES i DID FIND TICKETS FOR MINN. STATE FAIR AND YES ON THE FLOOR.  THE COST 124 a ticket.  And I also found Joan Jett tickets in California for 60.
The site ticketnow or call 18009272770.  The point I was making was the Nibroc offers top entertainment for FREE.  Yes I realize the sponsors pay it, but the average person like me can not afford to take my family to a concert for even 60 a piece.  Nibroc is not just for the elite people of corbin, its for people like me who can't afford a vacation everyyear.  I don't understand why people want NIBROC to be for only a certain group of people.  I guess they want to cut the majority of the people out like me.

Yes they did a great job.

But for the record, the Police, Fire and Street Dept personnel were paid OT for their participation in Nibroc.

They were not volunteering their time.

But still, my thanks to them all.

Annual Bubba-Gang Love Fest???  While you may really dislike Bruce Carpenter for some unknown reason, do you really feel that you are justified with such comments???  How old are you??? 6??? Grow up and act like a man!!!  Real men don't make such comments and post them anonymously.  Cowards do...  You should really consider other people's feelings when you post your comments.  What has Bruce ever done to you???

No, no, the wife and I had a good meal at Vintage House and saw many of our friends and a great movie at Tri-County Cinema, made sure I stayed away from the annual bubba gang love-fest. Since I was forced to close my downtown business for the week and weekend we're heading out of town 'til Monday.

Hope you have a great time at your buddy's downtown bash. You should, it costs enough.

This is what I was referring to in the last post!!!

I think the poster is referring to the fact that this group of friends actually does call themselves "The Bubba Gang" - heard this reference from them many, many times.

I think that they all SHOULD get paid overtime. Heck, I'd want it, wouldn't you? They all did a wonderful job, except for the fence thing! LOL! What was that all about!? If 'downtown' is running out of room to host such a big event then why not put it up on the hill at the Civic Center where it has been before? Then our streets would be useable and Poplar would be normal. (I never understood why they inconvienced us all by making that one way anyway, especially when school started. Start school AFTER this all, they aren't in school anyway for half the week!! ???

Many thanks to the FD and PD and all that were involved in keeping our town clean and safe. Hey, how about paying the volunteer's too... I think our budget can afford it!!

Thats one of the big issues here, we don't know what our budget for nibroc is, carpenter and estep keep it under their hat.

Funny how the lady talked about everything but the money, and that's the big thing people are concerned with.

She's taking dancing lessons to learn how to dance around the issue when the time comes.
