I know Doug, and I don't think Sundays has ever been an issue with Vintage House because they likely wouldn't open on Sundays anyway, for the same reason they are closed on Mondays - slow business day. I asked a couple of months back if there was any substance to the rumor of moving North, and I was told none at all.
With that said, we need to support VH and other locally owned businesses, especially those who have stuck their necks out, spent their hard earned money and taken the risk of putting a first-class business in Downtown Corbin.
We love the vintage house and eat there at least once a month. I had heard before about them not liking the sunday sales limitation, but hadn't heard about the moving issue. I hope they don't.
Some friends were in town this week and went to the Vintage House. They found it to be very good in every respect. They are pleased that we have a fine restaurant like this in Corbin.
Took the advice of a friend and tried the Barbeque Chicken Pizza for $8 - it was incredible. To anyone on a budget like high school or college students, you can still dine at a nice restaurant with great service and do it cheaply if you need to. The pizza fed two of us, and we were out a whole $11 including two sodas. Not only the rich can eat here - so can cheapskates like me.

Thanks we really appreciate you spending so much money here and that Big TipWOW
That last post made it sound like it was the Vintage House responding. The people at the Vintage House are great people and I am confident they would not respond like that.

I posted the $11 pizza post, and yes we did tip a couple bucks. I'm sure you don't work at Vintage House with that high school attitude. The only time I didn't leave a tip was at the place around the corner on Main, when the service was awful.
With your attitude, don't get into the restaurant business - you will fail if you don't appreciate ALL customers. The $11 customer one night might be the $500 business dinner next week. At Vintage House they always treat us great, whether we are in for a just a beer or entertaining a dozen business customers - more than I can say about some other local joints.
The last post was perfect. Whoever he was responding to either doesn't understand that everyone isn't so fortunate as to not having to watch thier spending habits or simply doesn't care. I almost, repeat ALMOST, sympathize with that attitude. There's a lot of them out there.
If you visit the Corbin area in the future be sure and have dinner at the Vintage House. We made a visit there last week and it was excellent. This website is very helpful and has a lot of good information. Thanks for having a section on the forum about the restaurants. We recommend the Vintage House.

A group of us went to the VInatage House this week and it was an enjoyable evening. The service, quality of food, and decor of the dining room were superior.
I recently visited some family in the area. We had dinner at the Vintage House, and I was completely shocked. It was really good. The menu was so ambitious for the area. It's really difficult to introduce a style of cooking, ingredients, and dining mentality to a new area. As a chef in Louisville, I have to say congratulations on a fantastic concept. It's this kind of courage that it takes to propel a community into the food future. With that being said, I'm thrilled for the people of this community who have accepted this establishment and revered it. You are so fortunate to have a great restaurant in your backyard. Most smaller towns don't have this luxury.
Thanks for letting us know about the Vintage House. We like to stay in Corbin when we travel south and then back home, and we plan to enjoy the good food and good atmosphere of the Vintage House as often as possible. The people of Corbin are nice and friendly.
We also enjoy very much having dinner at the Vintage House. People from outside the area that visit us are so pleasantly surprised when we take them to the VH.
We live in Williamsburg and hit the Vintage House every week, food is always great. Will we ever see as good a restaurant in Williamssburg? No way. Williamsburg will always lag behind London, and probably even Corbin, until we change our stubborn ways.
I've eaten at the Vintage House once , and I think it is one of the best restaurants in the area. FOOD is GREAT. Service could use some work. The atmosphere is wonderful. And the bar was enjoyable and entertaining. If only it was in a better location, unless you know it's there , YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT'S THERE!

You should try O'Mally's if you think the VH is good.
O'Malleys is a good place to eat. But I don't believe because it is a good place to eat that it takes anything away from the fact the Vintage House is extraordinary. O'Malley's is just off I-75 and it is important that we have good restaurants near this heavy travelled area. But the VH is a special place for dinner.
WIthout question the Vintage House is the best restaurant in Eastern Kentucky.
m Nice pat on your own back!!!
I don't own or work at VH or any restaurant, but you definately sound like an envious competitor.
I posted a message on another topic, but it applies here: You don't badmouth the competition - it just makes you look bad, and most people read right through it.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE LIMITED YOURSELF IF YOU THINK THE VINTAGE HOUSE IS THE BEST YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE AND TRY OTHER RESTAURANTS. I CAN THINK OF A LOT OF RESTAURANTS BETTER THAN THE VINTAGE FOR A LOT LESS $$$$$$$$$

You have a right to your opinion, but the person who likes the Vintage House best has a right to his or her opinion as well. Don't let this upset you so much. The only work I do in a restaurant is to eat a lot. We have some very good restaurants in our area, and I also enjoy the Vintage House very much.
