WIthout question the Vintage House is the best restaurant in Eastern Kentucky.
m Nice pat on your own back!!!
I don't own or work at VH or any restaurant, but you definately sound like an envious competitor.
I posted a message on another topic, but it applies here: You don't badmouth the competition - it just makes you look bad, and most people read right through it.
SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE LIMITED YOURSELF IF YOU THINK THE VINTAGE HOUSE IS THE BEST YOU NEED TO GET OUT MORE AND TRY OTHER RESTAURANTS. I CAN THINK OF A LOT OF RESTAURANTS BETTER THAN THE VINTAGE FOR A LOT LESS $$$$$$$$$
You have a right to your opinion, but the person who likes the Vintage House best has a right to his or her opinion as well. Don't let this upset you so much. The only work I do in a restaurant is to eat a lot. We have some very good restaurants in our area, and I also enjoy the Vintage House very much.

Sounds Like Someone Is Trying To Acuse Someone At O'Maley's Of Being Upset I Doubt That Since They Do Three Times The Business. WIthout question the Vintage House is the best restaurant in Eastern Kentucky. A simple opinion, Vintage House is someone's favorite restaurant - happens to be me Anonymous wrote:
m Nice pat on your own back!!! A smartelic comment. Vintage House is a great restaurant, but according to this reply, nobody can have that opinion, had to be a restaurant owner that posted it. Anonymous wrote:

I posted this, and it sounds like someone who has a problem with Vintage House, likely a competitor, posted the above messeges. I'm from Corbin and I work at Lexmark in Lexington, not at a restaurant. Anonymous wrote:

I CAN THINK OF A LOT OF RESTAURANTS BETTER THAN THE VINTAGE FOR A LOT LESS $$$$$$$$$ I've eaten at all of the restaurants in Corbin - Buckners, O'Malleys, Tuscany Garden, The Depot, and restaurants throughout the U.S. and world. Name one restaurant in Corbin at ANY price that is, as you put it, better than Vintage House. Cheaper maybe, or better Cheeseburger maybe, but not a better restaurant. Anonymous wrote:

This post is correct, let people post their simple opinion about Vintage House, or any restaurant, without replying with silly slams. Anonymous wrote: The Last Quote Is Right On. I have eaten at O'Malley's, I Love the bar and staff, But if you want to read what I had to say about O'Malley's, read about it on there section! This is what I have to say about The Vintage House.
I've eaten at the Vintage House once , and I think it is one of the best restaurants in the area. FOOD is GREAT. Service could use some work. The atmosphere is wonderful. And the bar was enjoyable and entertaining. If only it was in a better location, unless you know it's there , YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW IT'S THERE!
You should try O'Mally's if you think the VH is good.
I eat at O'Malleys on a regular basis. I also eat at the Vintage House. They are both very good. But the Vintage House has its unique strengths and O'Malleys has its good points. If a person believes the VH is the best restaurant in Eastern Kentucky that is his or her right. If you believe O'Malleys is the best restaurant that is your right. But why badger someone because they like the Vintage House?

I don't understand all the hostility, if you like O'Malley's that cool, but if someone likes Vintage House that is their right, and most people realize its a great restaurant and we are lucky to have them in our town, same with the Depot. In reality, you can't even compare O'Malley's and Vintage House, like comparing apples and oranges.
I was in from Georgetown for a family birthday party last week, and this place was great! Corbin has the best restaurant in the Southern half of the state. Service, food and wine were all outstanding. I wish we had a place this good in Georgetown.
Corbin has a real gem in The Vintage House. We had relatives in from Atlanta this week and went to the Vintage House Thursday night. There were 8 of us and all 8 meals were great, service was outstanding, and our company said that Vintage House was as good as anything they had in Atlanta. Anyone traveling through the area should try this place, beats any of the interstate restaurants.
Sadly, The Vintage House is closing its doors in Downtown Corbin this Saturday, August 11. They will however be looking for a new location and hope to re-open in the not-to-distant future.
I really hate to see them go, but hopefully they will find a new home soon.
The restaurant is doing well, but it seems that a lease renewal on the building could not be worked out with the owner, forcing Doug to find a new home for his restaurant. Again, hope he finds a new home for VH soon.
He thinks all he touches is gold, and all others is lead.
That was his plan all along, to get the building remodeled and a good vendor in it, with a decent lease, and then jack up the price at renewal time. Now he can market it to another restaurant vendor. Hope the word gets out about him. I thought the VH had an renewal option where it was all set for renewal, but I guess not.
Poynter will have that empty building for some time. Especially when the word gets out.
anybody who thinks the poynters would have to use someone to get a remodel done obviously doesn't know them. I'm a former knox co official and I've seen doug warner pull some fast ones. my bet is its him in the wrong, if anybody is.
Heard last night the deal here is Doug let the lease run out and did not renew his option to renew. He's worked a deal out with Jimmy Vance, to take over and lease the Tuscany Garden's building, rename it Vintage House II, and work his culinary magic there.
Said it's been in the works for some time, that's why vance has held the doors open this long.
