Again

The Poster is correct, "Mike" has more issues with the City & it's people than just the Mayor's race, sometimes when you put things in writing it is hard to retract them. I went back and read "Mike's" postings and came to the same conclusion ,that he has several issues with the town itself. If he really feels the way he does and according to his postings then Dr. Perry is not going to be able to help him out.

I would also add that the good doctor most probably would not support what "Mike" has posted and would certainly not like this guys support under any circumstances. With friends like this Truman may not have a chance!!!

Did it ever occur to you that maybe Mike isn't one of the spoon fed children that grew up like Leave It To Beaver and can see more of the problems than someone that has been sheltered? What exactly do you disagree with? And in an intelligent reply (with facts or not), let us know why....try not to attack the people on here for posting their opinions...

...... BTW, whose performing at this year's mess they call the Nibroc? Iron Butterfly? Herman and the Hermits? Nappy Roots?Have you guys booked Larry the Cable Guy for the opening act at the SE Expo Center yet? And a tractor pull the week after?...Another waste of money. You know $12 million makes a lot of interest. Whose benefiting from that. Will that be included with the 12 mil when it's over? I can think of 12 million things we need in this town besides an Expo Center. It'll just benefit a chosen few. What's up with the Technology Center? Renting it out for weddings? I never see anyone up there.

How do you think these comments make the folks who work hard on Nibroc every year feel???? Is this the same Mike your refering to? No attacks here, this is just what Mike had to say. This years mess???? Again Looks like Mike is the Guy who is doing the attacking.

Now the Expo Center, these things are always somewhat divisive, however, there are very good explanations as to the (Why's) the City did what they did. The 12 Million Dollars came from Frankfort and the Fletcher Administration, Do you want us to send the money back?? Jefferson County is already upset that they did not recieve this money, sure there are a million things 12 Million could be used for but only a few things the Government will let you expend money on and the Expo Center and the Business Base it Brings is one of them.

No more references to Larry The Cable Guy either, our area has a tough enough time as it is especially when trying to compete against Louisville & Northern Ky for badly needed funding. If you want to be a Value Added part of the community participate in the discussions at City Hall and activley support your Political Candidates. Again you do them no good and do not help your case when you write Silly and Hurtfull points about the folks who try and make things a little better.

My name is Mike ... You know $12 million makes a lot of interest.

Mike,

You are right. $12 million does draw a lot of interest and it is doing that right now. But it wouldn't draw a penny of interest for Corbin if the City officials had not agreed with the Commonwealth to undertake the arena project. The State was going to do this somewhere whether Corbin got involved or not. The arena could have been at London or Danville or any other KY city had it not been for the efforts of former Mayor Williamson and current Mayor Miller and the support of the Commissioners.

How will the poor citizens of Corbin (quite a few of them) benefit with all of these glorious projects?

Our area is an excellent tourist area. A new civic center will bring more people to our area, and hopefully attract some more jobs.

We are in an excellent location near I-75 and this exposition center can be a very positive resource to help creat jobs and an improved image to others. I agree that we need other infrastructure improvements as well. This may help us get more support for improved roads.

I was reading some of the previous posts and am curious as to just who this poster is talking about anyway? Who are the poor citizens of Corbin? Does he mean the people who live in older homes downtown? Or people who live in East Corbin, Oaklawn, Gordon Hill, 5th Street? Maybe the housing projects or Baptist Housing? Or maybe the few people who wander aimlessly each day between the post office and Hardees? Get a life! If something benefits Corbin it benefits all of Corbin's people. The Expo Center will benefit Corbin. New business will pop up here and there. Their taxes will be paid. Corbin will factor this into the city budget year after year and all citizens will benefit by improved police and fire protection, better public works, and another other programs or projects that might come as a result.
