RE: Redhound Football Team

I agree. These sports should not compete with each other and make it impossible for fans to attend both events. The schedules should not conflict.

I presume the question is related to the Boys' JV squad?  I checked the schedule on Corbinsoccer.com and the Boys' JV are playing in a tournament this weekend according to the schedule.  I must admit I am a little surprised to see any school anywhere in the southern United States playing anything other than football on Friday night!  This is a first that I'm aware of and certainly don't feel it will be a trend-setter nor will it prevent a large turnout at tonight's game vs SoLaurel.aww

Thanks for your clarification. With all the sports now in high school I am sure it is tough developing the schedules without some conflict. But the less doubling up the better off all our programs will be. Again, thanks.

TONIGHTS CROWD WAS HUGE!!!! AT THE S L FOOTBALL GAME

I'm gonna put this out here because everyone seems to Cower in Silence and being scared to address this subject:

The Head Football Coach & His brother are interfering in Sports here at all Levels. The Head Coach is Paid to Coach, Teach & Set an example for the Varsity Football Team. We have at least a Dozen other Coaches, maybe more that Coach and teach our kids all the way down to Middle School.

I think these coaches at the lower levels must be able to do their jobs without the Head Football Coach & His Brother interfering. I actually feel bad for some of these Coaches who give their time freely to be manipulated and directed by the Jewels.

It's not only unfair to the Coaches trying to do their job it's unfair to the parents who spend their VALUABLE time and assets supporting the players and Coaches. The Head Coach does not like parents interfering with his varsity practice sessions and is completley unapproachable, but when it comes to him giving advice and interferring he and his brother are the worst offenders as Parents and Non-Coaches!

This is also the case in Baseball & Basketball as these two coaches interfere in these sports also, because they have kids playing. the rules should be the same for ALL parents who have kids playing sports, Let the coaches do their job and stop Interfering, this goes for the Jewels too!!

Ed McNeel seems to be the one asleep at the Wheel while these guys run wild and do anything they want, very soon this is going to bubble like a witch's cauldron as these guys will try and Manipulate more Corbin activities.

The Head Coach & His Brother should DO THEIR own job and but out of everything else, with a 16-12 Record over the last three years I believe I would concentrate a little more on the Varsity Program!!!!

No, it's not. He's making accusations without presenting any evidence. It's easy to say something in general like he is saying now, but if you expect anyone to take it seriously, much less take it up to look into, you have to give examples. THis guy does this all the time, makes accusations with not evidence to back it up.  Sounds more like a mad parent to me.

If he puts some specifics out there, then we'll see if it's legit.

When the Original Post was made several of us predicted the Mad Parent quote, it' always the easy way out and right on the Money.

So, since your having trouble understanding we'll help ya out a little:

The 16-12 Record over three years is Fact, 6-6 two years ago, 7-6 last year and what 3-1 or 4-1 this year so far. Something like that. All said a little over 500 for 2 years and a few games and the season no where near over.

The Practicing on Wednesday nights, get in your car and drive down to the practice fields, that's the only way you will obviously believe it, then you still may think those are Whitley County Or South laurel Players out there, that's terrible, practicing on church nights period, sorry thats what you believe, its OK with us if you don't go to Church but several around here do.

Next, talk to the coaches who have been involved in the Sports programs where the Jewels are Parents and not Coaches, have you talked to any of them, you'll have to ask at least a few questions and make an effort here also.

They will freely tell you they are the worst offenders when it comes to unwanted advice and interference, and last but not least, watch these guys when their own kids play, watch the coaches yourself, you make the call on what you think is interference, this goes for baseball & basketball also.

Those are some specifics, just like the first post was specific, but this will require you to leave your chair, put down the remote and do some eye witness investigating, observing and interviewing. If your not willing to do these things (As Ed McNeel should) then no amount of written specifics can convince you that something is wrong.

Come on down and get involved, talk with the Parents who have kids playing today, talk with the parents whose kids have already went through the system, drive down and observe, come to a few games, then tell us what you have seen and the feedback you were given.

As you turn over some of these rocks you may find a few more details than you want to, but see for yourself. You threw the Mad Parent line out there before you had did absolutley any investigating at all, this tells me your probably either one of the coaches or a crony trying defend this little Kingdom, you gave away your Neutral "show me some Facts" position very easy with your give away line!

The Good thing about this Board is many more people than just us is reading this post, they will also get a chance to do some investigating, let's see what others have found??

It's the key between the comma "," and the forward slash "/" and it's called a period.

I feel the post above is comical.  Critical of those who do get off the couch and put their remote control down in an attempt to go out and work with our local youth.  What I know about football would fit nicely in a small box.  However, I have heard / seen nothing but good things about Coach Jewel.  No one will agree with every coaching decision from any coach.

Your complaints suggest to me you should volunteer and become a coach.

Then why are you commenting? If you have not did any Investigating, Know very little about Football, what kind of person would make such a Silly statement as above??

Those are your own words at the Top, maybe you should go to the other threads where you possibly have something Valuable to add. I would suggest before you comment you might want to start or end without teeling everyone you know nothing about what is being discussed.

Your post also does not address the points that were made about Wednesday Night practice and the Interference points, as you say yourself "You have Only Heard", pay attention to the original post, drive by the Football Field Tonight, say around 6PM then report back to us.

Have you been at any Little League Baseball Games? Basketball Games? Have you watched the Jewels go up and try and steer the Coaches who are trying to do their job?? Your another one trying to change the subject, dodge the Facts, and post silly points that have nothing to do with the actual issues being debated.

Nice Try at changeing the Subject, but the Jewels are Interfering and should consider other coaches and their roles and the kids they are responsbile for!

No Comma here, you want this with Mustard or Ketchup.

I go to the games, I drive down and watch practices very often.  I have two nephews that play for corbin varsity football, and came up through the ranks of the school leagues.  I have another that only plays basketball, and a neice that plays soccer and girls basketball.  My neighbors kids play volleyball and baseball, and girls softball.  My other neighbors kids plays varsity and JV football, and basketball, and baseball.  I spend a lot of time following them around to games, and I go and watch practices.

I have known most of the coaches in the other leagues for all the sports for many years, and have come to know the ones I didn't know.

You, last poster, are full of baloney.

Well---The last Poster has went from knowing nothing about football to having almost everyone in her family play along with theier friends and neighborhood, that's amazing.

My how you became involved seemingly overnight but still once again have zero facts, dodged the original thread and answered none of the stinging issues that folks are asking about.

Fix yourself that baloney Sandwich, watch the Gong Show, and let other folks who know what these kids and coaches at the lower levels are going through comment.

PS--Did your two nephews go to church last night? Our Kids Play also but had to practice, maybe their on different Varsity teams? Which varsity team are you referring to that Practiced to 7PM last night?

I'm commenting just to tick you off!

And you're right, I "have not did any Investigating."   Now I would love to continue the debate but I have to did my investigating!

You have not ticked anyone off, but your one of the 1560 folks that have viewed this thread! That was the name of the game, to make you read it and call out exactly what these folks are doing.

Success???????????????????????? Now that's success, making you respond & read. Looks like no one else out of 1560 views disagree's with the Post? Really sad that no One will even try and defend these guys, that tells you alot, right, out of 1560 Views your silly little post is all that can be said in their defense.

Now that's really something and shows how much support they really have!!

But you, last poster, haven't told us what the coach's are doing. All you say is they're interfering, but you don't tell us how.  You tell us to talk to the other coach's, but what do we ask them.  You tell us, you're the one raising the issue.

We don't have to drive anywhere or ask anyone anything. You should do that for us.  We don't need to investigate, you need to investigate.

Give us details about what is going on, then we can make some calls and watch for something you are upset about.

And the wednesday church thing.  Just because you want to go, or you want your kids to go, has no bearing on me or my kids.  And just because we're not in church every time the doors are open doesn't mean we don't care.

Sure this thread has some good viewer numbers. And it'll get even more views if you'll tell us what you are talking about.

I have one grandson in high school, and one in middle school, both playing all the sports they can.  And I'm there every chance I get. And I've heard or seen nothing that you describe.  If I'm looking in the wrong place, tell me where to look or who to talk to.  But so far, there is nothing to see or hear in my circle of people.

My ticking you off comment was sarcasm & poking.

But to give a slightly more serious reply, the post above brings out good points.  You have made general accusations about people and have yet to give a single strand of evidence or even an example.  I'm not a friend or enemy of the coaches but I find your posts to be irresponsible.  They are coaches but even more they are men that live in our fair community. They're husbands and fathers who do not deserve to have someone accusing them of whatever you're trying to accuse them of.

The next time you see one of the coaches "interfering" what don't you grow a pair and call them out on it?

Oh It looks like the Facts were presented and it's you who can't seem to dispute anything, you contradict yourself from one post to the other, you claim you know knothing about what is going on then offer up comments that seem to try and defend the points that were made, then ya turn around and admit you have not investigated anything.

The only thing Irresponsible is commenting on a situation you admit you know nothing about. Now, calling these guys out, oh I think the 1500 Views here pretty much called them out, do you see anyone besides yourself defending them??

Ed Mcneel gets paid 200K per year to "Call Out" the folks that work for him, that's compared to an 18K per year for the Average person living in Whitley & Knox Counties. Of Course not knowing anything about the situation, doing no Investigating, being completey Ignorant of what is unfolding, admitting you no nothing certainly qualifies you to continue to keep us entertained.

And by the way, these coaches and Men are employess of the School System which is run by City Tax Dollars which is funded by US the Tax paying citizens of Corbin.

Folks like you are the reason these guys are getting away with doing anything they want, your the one who needs to grow a backbone and quit cowering down to this little fifedom.

Huh??? So how did we end up at 6-6 two years ago and 7-6 last year???? This year is still unfolding but we have played one team with a winning record and lost, so are we looking at the same record here??

That's a 13-12 Record according to the Math over the last two years, where is that success again???

Look at the Team entering this Years Hall Of fame, I think the paper said they were 11-1----------------- That's success!!!!

You still have not listed a single fact.  My knowledge of football has nothing to do with you accussing the coaches of mis-conduct.  You spew out statements as fact, such as Mr. McNeil's salary when I don't think you have a clue.

I'm not defending the coaching staff.  I am asking you to state facts as to the problem.  Don't tell me to go investigate.  You say you've already done that, so I'm simply asking you to state your specific findings.
