This site gets better each week.
I asked one of the commissioners if they read it, and he just smirked and said, "I've heard of it."

I hope the posters picks up,,,,,,,,,,we need more opinions and ideas.


Its just the same people posting and digging.  Their are some great ideas here but for the same people to sit back and slam is ridiculous.  If you don't like something then get on the committee to change it.  I am sure any board would love to have someone who will work for free and help.  Its always the same people who work and do everything and its the same people who sit back and complain.

The same people are also crying about Slamming and in the your face baloney, this is the same poster who wants to be in charge and volunteer his time (when nobody really wants him). This guy can never tell us what his Committee comes up with, show us his budget, or plan for the future.

This is also the same poster that dodges questions on the Varsity Club thread, can produce no criteria or operating instructions but cries about slamming and never can really give technical explanations for anything he does. I'll bet if he signs his name we will find a very long an fruitfull history of stirring trouble at various other places in a long storied path.

Just hanging around places an Volunteering has created an atmosphere for some of these so called "Time Givers" to always be available, unfortunatley their ability level is no where near the Guys who helped guide the Ossie Burch Field House project and the major Improvements Corbin has seen over the last few years. They are good however at Dodgeing Questions, getting themselves in positions of semi-power but now can not perform.

I would hope the mayor & city commission, school board look closely at who is doing what and cull out the Professional Loafers and Folks who are adding nothing but problems. Our School Systems and Sports Systems need Proffessionals who can Communicate and work with All of our Kids, Parents and Business people, the same goes for Tourism  & The Economic Development.

Let's look for Sharp Pro's in the future and demote the people hurting our Programs as quickly as possibly, some folks add value, others could not survive in any company in this nation.

I decided to review this website from front to back. This is my conclusion.

This website promotes Tourism and has great coverage about Cumberlalnd Falls State Park and other sites of interest to visitors.

This website promotes the Downtown Program and provides an excellent schedule.

This website promotes the Fine Arts Program and provides an excellent schedule with information on purchasing tickets.

This website promotes Relay for Life.
 
This website promotes the advantages for Economic Development in our area and provides cost comparisons and State Incentive information.

This website provides a summary of businesses in our area.

This website provides information on our Regional Medical Center.

This website provides information and photos of our schoolsl and awards they have earned.

This website provides names and phone numbers of our city leaders.

This website provides us a chance to express our opinions on improving our area.  This website believes in freedom of speech.

This is a super website.

*Over the last six weeks we have read a News Journal editorial slamming this website.

*We have read about the Tourism Director (Same person as the one who wrote the critical editorial) criticize this website at a Tourism Commission Meeting.

*We read a letter to the editor in the News Journal that gave a scathing rebuke of this website and an endorsement of the Carpenter-Estep team.

Good luck to the Tourism Commission and Industrial Commission and I hope they have the fortitude to take the appropriate action to clean up their two bosses.

Several of my friends in other areas follow this website and love it. It is pure freedom of speech.

Fella, you forgot the Cumberland Valley Cruise In. He has a spot on that event with some great music.  Also he provides the weather, and a section on news highlights. Thanks for giving us a good summary. If anyone else knows there is something we have overlooked that is done by this website add it to this summary.

Are you stupid I am a housewife, why would i care what people think.  I just know this site has made a lot of friction between the Corbin sports teams that is unnessecary.  Is that healthy and will anything be resolved? REALLY!  Except they may hate each other more.  Same I feel with city and all the other issues here.  What really is going to be resolved.  Except this give you a place to slam someones reputation.  I am sure you didn't attend church today.  I always tell my kids "What would Jesus Do"  this is a bad site for our children.

Yes should grown people act this way.  Its fine to make suggestion but some of the comments are a little too much.  I am afraid I agree with this poster.

Most people who follow this site is because it is comical.  I also do not agree with slamming peoples names.  I agree our town has a lot to work on but is this the place to do it.  We have city meetings in order for you to voice your opinion.  I feel this site has gone to far.  The truth is fine but using peoples name for gov etc is rediculous.

This site has the responses of the people. The administrator allows us to pick new subjects. The good things about it include that if you don't like it you don't have to use it. But why should those who don't like feel like they should be able to take it away from the rest of us.

I be the critics of this site have never even looked at all the great information on it. Take a look.

Some previous posters cannot accept that this day and age news Media moves at the speed of light. The Foolish comment of the poster only wants our opinions voiced at a city meeting. Evidently this person has the mentality that this is the only place you can speak

Would these comments be ok if they were spoken at a City meeting?

When you search for "Kentucky Messag Boards" the one that comes up NUMBER ONE,  is this message board out of a total of 657,452.  It is great to see CORBIN NUMBER ONE in allowing people to express his or her opinion.

The Tourism Commission should pay you more than they are now paying you.
CORBIN IS NUMBER ONE! It ranks higher than the University of Kentucky Wildcats Message Board, which is 7th. CORBIN IS NUMBER ONE!

When you search Google for Kentucky Message Boards this one is 3rd in the US and the Kentucky Wildcats Athletics is 5th.  Wow! Isn't it something special to know Corbin pops up in one search as number one and in another as number 3. Great going!

In today's Times Tribune, in the article about Vangent moving, the reporter mentioned a "local community message board" or something like that. That means this board.

ANother feather in the cap for this board.

I think the board has a lot of influence over the newspaper. Mention it here and it shows up in the paper. Sort of like a suggestive sell at a fast food restaurant. Would you like an order of fries with that?

        That is a great post. However, I prefer green beans because they are better for you.  You should quit ordering so many fries and try some healthier foods. But I agree this board reaches many people. And the people who view it provide some good information.  Not all of them but most of them. I learn more from the information on here than any other source because the people are communicating. Thanks for such a wise post.
