Gasoline, thank goodness for Mac's.

Since the big price hikes in the nation of our gasoline prices, here in corbin we have at least one business that keeps it honest.

The Mac's convinence stores, formerly the DairyMarts, and I think they have even changed again to something else, keeps the local gas prices down.

Every gas joint in town tries to hike their fuel prices to the hilt, but, Mac's always keeps theirs low, forcing the others to follow suit. Of course the interstate stores don't follow this trend, but, most other places do.

I travel very often in this area, and we normally have the lower of all the surrounding towns as far as gas goes. There's the occasional lower price, but we are usually at the top (or bottom as it goes).

I believe the name is now Circle K, and I agree, they are consistent in being very competitive.

Swifty was down to 1.89 today,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,11-24.

Soon, they all will follow.

Circle K will be down there by friday.

They keep everybody honest.

RE: Gasoline, thank goodness for Mac's (now Circle K).

Speedway is starting to develope a reputation as a somewhat slimey retail operator. One day they are at $1.93 per gallon, then the next day (or hour) they are at $2.19, just like they were yesterday. Gouging I-75 travelers I guess is their right, but this practice will cause me to never buy gas or store items at Speedway, whether they are priced competitive one day or not.

When I did stop there yesterday to buy a soft drink, there was not one car buying gas. Of course the real reason I stopped was to ask them why they raise their price by .25 to .30 gallons in a matter of minutes, and all they said was "it's corporate."

Don't buy from these people. Swifty and Circle K/Marathon are always the most competitive, and they are more ethical business operators.

To anyone traveling on I-75 that does not know the area, at exit 25 travel west 2 miles and you will find a very nice Marathon/Circle K store that is always as low as the others, and often considerably lower than the I-75 gougers (.30 cents a gallon cheaper yesterday)

Corbin is typically .10 to 20 cents cheaper than any other cities along I-75 also, from Ohio to Tennessee and beyond.

Very well stated. I agree, and I don't buy gas from the ones who jockey it up and down.

I use a Shell Master Card and get 10% of my gas purchase and I am always under the cheap cut rate gas price that has no additives. Pay now for good gas or pay later at getting new injectors.

Oil prices are edging up. When more people are on the roads this spring-summer we will probably be facing $3.00 a gallon gasoline again.

You are right! Corbin prices have gone up to $2.48 a gallon today.

Speedway has jacked their price up to the $2.65 a gallon range, their usual every-few-days attempt to gouge I-75 travelers. Employees say its corporate doing the up one day, down the next pricing nonsense, but their corporate pricing policies are making Speedway look like crooks and idiots to local people.

If you are a traveler along I-75, at Corbin's exit 25 drive 2 miles west to the Marathon/Circle K, or 1 mile east to Swifty - it is worth the extra drive. These two are consistantly the cheapest in this part of the state, and don't play games with their prices like Speedway, BP, Shell and the others.

Unlike Swifty, Marathon/Circle K is also a convenience store, and I personally believe Marathon gas is higher quality.

was in London this weekend and gas was $2.69, .21 cents higher that the two stations above. Corbin seems to always have the cheapest prices - we are lucky. speedway at south Corbin was also $2.48 a gallon, but will be 20 cents higher tomorrow, or Wednesday, or Thursday. your right, they play with the price to rip-off out of town travelers on 75.

If You could get a gas card you would get a big discount on your gas purchase and not have to worry about shopping price.

I DON'T THINK GAS CARDS GET YOU 20 OR 25 CENTS OFF PER GALLON...

Folks

The last two days gas Prices have went up an average of 20-30 Cents, literally overnight?? We have a Presdident that will not even mention this hardship on our people and a Governor that seems oblivious to reality.

Just wonder if there is anyone left that will step up and be champion for the people anymore, this is is nothing less than Legal Extortion from the Oil Companies.

Beyond Sad that our Elected Leaders stand back and do nothing.

What do you mean? They do plenty - they line their pockets, pad their bank accounts, wine and dine the oil companies for political contributions - its the Bush/Cheney energy policy. Maybe we really do need another peanut farmer.

I also like your point that its beyond sad that our Elected Leaders stand back and do nothing, but it is even sadder that our voting public stands back and does nothing about the poor job our elected leadership does term after elected term.

VP Cheney had a secret Energy plan he concocted up with some of his Oil Industry buddies. He would not even disclose the names of these executives to the Congress to help them perform their oversight duties. That energy plan is a total failure.

By the middle of this summer gasoline prices could reach $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon. This will be devastating to the hard working people of our nation. The Bush-Cheney team is clueless and don't seem to be able to face reality.
