New laws on child kidnapping, identity theft needed.

Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here since I haven't done so in this section yet.

After seeing the rescue of the two children from their kidnapper yesterday, one of them was kidnapped in 2002, I would love to see a "no tolerance" law passed in the state regarding this issue. If we have one now, I've never heard of it.

Kidnap a child, in any instance, in this state, you get life in prison, no parole, no time off for good behavior. You do the rest of your life, in a high security prison the whole time. No exceptions.

Another one, identity theft, which came home to us with the car lot that Elvis ran, if you've never had issues with this, it is horrible. You can't imagine the feeling when you find out someone has done this to you or your family members.
For this, 25 years. Think it's to severe, then you haven't had an issue with it personally. Oh, and total and complete restitution to the victims, no matter how long it takes. Along with this, the law would includes confiscation of their property, and it's sold, similiar to the way the federal government does when they bust drug dealers, and when it's sold, full restitution is given to the victims. The rest, goes to the law enforcement departments.

I can and will come up with a lot more, but these two are personal with me.

And yes, I need to write my state legislators about this. I will.

And, as my wife and I were talking about these issues that I posted here, we wondered how the debate would go in the committees and such, trying to add loopholes or reduce sentences in these two issues. I can't see how you can or why you would defend any less time. Unless you're a kidnapper or identity thief yourself. Or, maybe someone in your family is !!!!!!!!!!!!

More later.
