RE: War and elections, this will be interesting.

How could 40 Republican Senators and Senator Lieberman vote against our brave troops and their frightened families in getting a few more months in the US between deployment back to the war?  Some of these troops are going back for the 3rd and 4th time, and soon some for the 5th time.

Our troops and their families are carrying the burden for this war. The rest of us are going on with business as usual. Halliburton is making a fortune and has moved its headquarters out of the US. The oil companies are continuing to make record profits. But our troops were sent to this war with inferior equipment to fight in that type of terrain and Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld provided incompetent leadership from the very start. Thank goodness they brought Gates in to replace Rumsfeld.

Our two Kentucky Senators are about the most useless of all the members of the Senate. What has either one of them done except effectively raise cash from lobby groups.  It is time for a clean sweep in Kentucky and Washington, DC.

This has been one of the most disastrous times in our history. The Bush-Cheney team will always be remembered for the poor way they have led our nation. How can you send your men and women to war and cut the taxes of the wealthiest people in America. When we go to war all of us should have to pay a price to support our troops. Our troops have shown great courage. Let's pray this horrible war will end. And let's then be sure we are prepared to keep the terrorists out of our nation.

President Bush had another rough speech experience in Australia. While speaking at a major event he thanked the   AuSTIAN  people for their support in Iraq.  The Australian people attending were somewhat shocked.

Next he said that when Australia and the United States attend the next OPEC summit many problems will be resolved.  Actually the United States and Australia are neither one in OPEC.  He should have said APAC instead of OPEC.

Those two mistakes early in his speech really made a big hit on the attendees.

Allan Greenspan, a conservative Republican and former Chairman of the Federal Reserve has written a new book and he criticizes the Bush-Cheney administration for getting us in such deep debt. He told us what we have known since we invaded Iraq that it was a war for oil. It wasn't a war about WMD, or terrorism, or creating a democracy in a nation that cannot even tolerate each other. It is good to see Mr. Greenspan giving us the facts.

I wish President Bush could run for a third term. He just needs more time to get the war over in Iraq and Afghanistan. And with a little more time we could take on Iran. I believe it is a huge mistake to limit our Presidents to two terms.
However, I believe our Vice Presidents should be limited to two terms.

The TV news was interesting last night.  The leaders of France and Germany and even Democrat leaders were blasting Iran for trying to develope nuclear weapons. I wonder if they are secretly thankful to President Bush for taking Sadam out so we don't have to worry about Iraq?
