RE: Who's Chamber of Commerce is it ??????

They would never ever take on Bob Terrell Sr.

Bob is one of the best in the world and they know it would make them only look stupid to try a public debate.

I would say however they would challenge Bob to a drinking contest at the depot or possibly an all you can eat to the death match at the king buffet. Other than this the city has NO one who can even debate anyone in public much less Bob Terrell Sr.

Bob did a great job here and the entire city knows it! It's tough to measure up to Pro's who have been in the real world for many years and the expectations and expertise Bob had, has unfortunatley vanished in the last few years.

The best our current Industrial Leader can do is stumble around the parking lot during UK Football games with BBQ Sauce all over him. Many folks have seen this guy in action who are Industrial Leaders from Lexington and the surrounding areas, this folks is your current leadership.

Don't even dignify these amateurish comments from the same couple of imposters with a reply Mr. Terrell. The whole town, state and much of the country knows the type of person you are and your abilities. Let these people and their reputations ride with Mr. Carpenter at the industrial helm. As another poster said, you have to dance with who you brought to the party. You can go with the best, or you can choose not to. A couple of them made their choice, and their reputations are at stake along with it. If those involved are content with Mr. Carpenter calling on Fortune 500 CEO's, Presidents and Upper Management, so be it. We can only hope for the best, and the proof will be in the performance, or lack of. Lets see how many manufacturing, technology and other professional jobs we procure during his tenure. If Mr. Carpenter can bring in jobs for our people, I'll be the first to shake his hand. But if he doesn't, and a couple of these folks railroaded one of the best business people Corbin has, and best people overall, for political favortism, we all need to be at the industrial board meetings and commissioner meetings demanding accountability and change.

A debate? That would be so lopsided, and should have happened a couple of years ago. If it happened today, we know who would show and who find a reason not to.

I also strongly agree, people need to talk to and write letters to Huff, Wolley, Ellis, Herd and Eubanks. Again, its their reputations, and Corbin's future, that are at stake.

Bob, don't insult your dignity and integrity by debating the people in the office you once held. Those that they listed on the committee now are some of the very birds that voted to fire you. Becky Myers was at the helm, as her Republician cronies egged her on, the Mitch McConnell and Terry Forcht group baited her to be the hatchetwoman for them.

Although it will be too late, the area will see through the smokescreen of Carpenter and Estep, so enjoy life for awhile.

WoW!!!! Estep and his Gang of outside the city limit folk and his right hand Phony Bolony Carpenter are getting nothing done for our City. These Pompous Blowhards have probably cost the city years of Progress.

Why is the City Commissioners Coddling to this group???? The City Commission should be held accountable by the voters of Corbin during Election.

It sounds like you are saying there was a plot to get rid of the former economic development director. I have never heard of this before now. Please tell us more.

If there was a political plot we should ask the industrial board people about it and demand that they do something about setting it right.

But I have to ask, what would those people have had to gain by going along with such a thing? "Becky Myers was at the helm"? I cannot believe that. I really doubt that this plot theory is true. I think all of those people are first class individuals just trying to serve Corbin.

Don't give generalities. Tell me specifically why did they get rid of him if it was not political? He had just been selected as the Tri-County Leader of the Year the prior year.  What are the reasons?  They knew he might run for County Judge Executive and this was a good way to discredit him. That is the opinion of people in Williamsburg. Be specific and tell me why it happened?

Tell us what the industrial board did wrong. I have never heard any of them speak ill of the former director but knowing each of them by reputation I believe they did what they thought they should do. I don't think you really know anything about it but perhaps someone that was in the room at the time would care to give up some details. Often when a personnel committee gives an employee a pink slip there is hard feelings. Getting the boot is sometimes hard to swallow. So who was wrong in this case? The committee or the employee. This is often the case in local government. Every secretary that was let go and every cop that ended up someplace else lets on like they were right and the system was wrong. Human nature I guess.
