Gov. Fletcher was moved to tears when he read the News Journal Publisher's string of Editorials endorsing Fletcher. If Fletcher is re-elected I understand the only newspaper that will be allowed in the Kentucky Capitol will be the News Journal. He has also made it known that the Publisher will run the show and anyone who doesn't comply will be asked to leave the table and get out of Kentucky.

I like just about all the employees of the News Journal. The Sports coverage is very good, Trent does a very good job, the advertising people are good, and Linda Carpenter is a real fine professional newspaper person. They have a Publisher who is arrogant, one sided, and he is to newspapers the same thing Fox News is to Television......Partisan and biased.

One thing is for sure, if you want to win an election, don't have Estep or his paper endorse you, it's a sure election win killer.

Didn't he say he'll retire if Fletcher lost? Do you think he'll wait to retire the day of the inauguration, just to show Beshear?

Who will replace Estep?

Your attitude is slightly off but that is no surprise.

Fletcher beat Beshear in Whitley County 4,596 to 3,664.

If the News Journal had a larger circulation Fletcher would have won.

Four years ago Fletcher won Whitley County with 67% of the vote. This time he got 55.5% of the vote. Ninety three out of Kentucky's 120 counties were won by Beshear.  Whitley County has 17,200 Republicans and 6,200 Democrats. Nearly 75% of the Republicans didn't even vote, and some of those who did voted for Beshear.  The main support for Fletcher came from this area of Kentucky.

The rest of Kentucky got fed up with arrogance, deception, and corruption. A Governor who pardons people who break the law and a Governor who takes the 5th Amendment should be rejected. The voters also got sickened by hate phone calls the day before the election by a political party that claims to have a pipe line to God. God is the Heavenly Father of all of us whether we are Democrats, Republicans, or Independents.

If Estep is running the show today and prevails I will lose all respect for our commission. He did no research on the issue of the website. He is angry and allows that anger to dictate his thinking.

Today we will find out in this community if people stand up for what is best. Do we want quality in our work or do we want vengeance from the leader of the commission? We will soon find out.

Yes, I believe there was only one bid received. But the bidding process was not followed with accordance to the requirements.

And, I wonder how Mr. Bently, the bidder, is connected with Estep and the city. If we dig deep, I'm sure we'll find some politicial and business connections. No one does anything for free, or cheap.

Ode to the Tourism Commission

Suzie is the only one with guts to say no!

Don is the publisher for the Forcht team,
his mouth spews out hot nasty steam.

Tipton is the attorney for the Forcht Group,
Don just tells him to jump through the hoop.

Sudhir is a follower of the bosses in town,
He can smile and at the same time frown.

Steve McBurney's convictions blow with wind,
He doesn't have the will to stand by a friend.

Quality doesn't matter if you hate someone,
you just stick together to get the dirty work done.

That's great! I think you might have a future in song writing, Humility. We need to sign you up somewhere, Nashville, maybe? It definitely sounds more like a country song. We could call it "Whoa is Corbin", "Dirty Dealin's in a Small Town", "We Got a Brand New Website", or "Watchin Our Town Go Down, Down, Down", something like that. Who should sing our new anthem???

        Can you play the tambourines?  I was born in Uncertain, Texas on Cado Lake.  I'm just an humble Texas boy and came to Kentucky to live in the most partisan political county in America. I was a lifelong Republican until I came here and saw how things were run around here.  I am a song writer and I will sing my own songs but I would like for your to play the tamourines.
